Here's part 2 of BLIGHT. Will Esther and Peter discover the sources of the bovine sickness? Will farmers set the smallholding alight? And are pitchforks as popular as they ever were, or have they been superseded by newer, more elegant rabble-rousing implements? (If you missed the PDF version of part

"SURPRISE" ""DROP""!!!! Here's another digital zine to help bridge the gap to all-new material. WORLD OF MILK contains more than a hundred pages of lightly annotated sketches from 2018 and 2019, with the genesis of many series taking place under hothouse conditions. Plus, a wealth of unrelated and f

There's no new PDF issue for a couple of months (though advance readers will get a new 6-page short story here on August 17th). So I offer up a digital zine I've made, an annotated compilation of nearly 70 pages of drawings and notes from my creatively productive Covid years. It's linked under the c

Here's the concluding part of Solver volume 2. The print version of volume 2 will be out in the autumn. This issue answers a few long-held questions, and asks half a dozen more. It's meant to be a little treat for long-time readers, but whether you feel that way is entirely up to you. I'm writing th

Here's the second part of the trio of issues that closes out Solver volume 2, "Hull or High Water". I was dogged by illness and equipment failure while drawing this one but somehow rode it out unscathed and it's probably my favourite Solver chapter so far. The next chapter, "Christmas Special", shou

Patreon subscriber Alex contacted me to ask if there was a page that listed everything I've published, and where you could get it. FAIR QUESTION! A few readers have done timelines of the series, and I'd had a go myself, but I'm not too into prescriptive approaches to my work. I started reading Marve

Sunday greetings, valued subscriber. A new Solver story is here for you. This is the first part of a trilogy of single-issue tales that will round out volume 2. The next one, "Hull or High Water", will be with you on March 1st. If you enjoy this issue or have anything to say, I look forward to heari

Happy Sunday, dear reader! Here's the final part of Destroy History: NEMS. Drawing this two-part comic was a major undertaking - maybe the hardest of my career as an artist - but I'm pleased with the results and I hope you enjoy it too. NEMS parts two and three have been combined into a print versio

Happy Sunday, dear reader. Here's a new comic for you, a long promised tale but one that has spent more than three years on the blocks - NEMS part 2. Fans of long waits will be disappointed to hear that part 3 will follow on November 2nd. I posted an annotated rough version of this story back in the

Going through boxes of sketchbooks yesterday, I found some of the original artwork I did for a comic called "Ghosts" that I made in 2007. It was a Scary Go Round mini with an odd modus operandi; a simple script, 3 or 4 panels on each page. I've been feeling lately that the time and effort that I put

Sunday greetings, valued subscriber. What better way to spend your day of rest than by reading a brand new tale? Not so interested? What if I tell you that it features pulse-pounding action, deeply sensual romantasy, melodious tootling, treachery, intrigue, friendship and "little jokes"? I think you

If you're reading Kill Or Be Quilt, it may be fun for you to compare the finished issue to my rough breakdown for issue 2 (drawn as I scripted) that I sent to Max. Note that Max did the character designs after I sent the roughs so very few of them are exactly as they appear in the finished issue. Wh

Happy Sunday to you, my valued subscriber. So here it is, the final part of Wobbly Head, which resolves not only this story but also (fingers crossed) the story arc of my 2020 series WICKED THINGS. My aim was to tell a story that would stand alone, while also satisfying people who bought the earlier

Happy Sunday, subscriber! Well, here we are, part 3 of Wobbly Head, where a lot of things are made clear. Or clearer. No one can say I didn't try to provide absolute clarity. You can download your PDF under the cover art. Part 4, the senses-shattering conclusion, runs to an over-generous 24 (rather

Happy new year! The sharp-eyed will spot that this story has gained a part. I was near the end of drawing part two when I spotted that I had an opening to develop things in an interesting way. I inserted a chapter with the final part already written, do not try this at home. The NEW part 3 will begi

Here's part one of WOBBLY HEAD, a long-promised tale that wraps up loose threads from WICKED THINGS, my 2020 Boom!Box series with Max Sarin. If you've not read that, recaps are provided in-story for any salient plot points. I think this is a really good one, hope you enjoy it. Part 2 will begin on o

Here's a new comic for you. It's a "pilot" for something new. You can think of it as both a prequel and a sequel. It features characters old and new. Let me know if you enjoyed it. Here's Solver 11, which hopefully winds up the first volume much better than poor Claire standing in the rain waiting for Lottie to return. Your PDF is linked under the cover image. I had to come up with this issue fast, when all the Conan comics were taken down. I was eleven weeks ahead on the webc

As a thank you for all the feedback for the poll last week, here's a Giant Days short I did in 2016. I did a couple of these; after making a lot of silly mistakes in the first one, I feel like the second one was much better. And it's an interesting bridge between the Giant Days minis I did before th

The final issue. As you will see, it ties up every single loose end perfectly. I believe it would take a very powerful imagination to extrapolate a single plotline beyond the final page of Steeple #20. Your PDF is linked under the cover. I'll be back with something new in mid-February.

Here it is, the penultimate issue of Steeple. Issue 20 will be the last, but believe me when I say that I am going out with a bang. Your PDF is linked under the cover - let me know if you enjoyed the issue in the comments.

People sometimes write and ask if I have a PDF of a standalone book I did in 2003 (2003!) called "Girlspy". I tell them I will "dig it out". I have just dug it out for you. I apologise if anything in this book offends modern sensibilities. i am too scared to look inside it to find out. Link at the b

Twenty-five years since the first Bobbins comic was put on the internet... and no visible improvement has occurred ho ho! But I'll keep trying, at least until we reach the 50th anniversary, when I will retire. I'll be 72 and enough will, quite frankly, be enough at that point. A new story for you! T

A Patreon subscriber emailed to ask me about the availability - or otherwise - of a comic I made called Human Soup. This was a 24-hour comic I did for the Lakes International Comic Arts Festival in 2015. The event itself was enormous fun. I was in a big room with some other great artists. What I pro

Here's part 2 of Hell On Wheels. I hope you enjoy it. I was pleased with it when it was finished. I've hit my stride with these new stories, I'm hard at work on the next one, "Maggie's Party (pts 1&2)". Trying to get as far ahead as I can before I have to take time out from webcomics to write anothe

There was only a one-off special last year, but Steeple is back back back for an extended run beginning with a new two-part story, HELL ON WHEELS! I hope you enjoy part one - let me know in the comments if you do. Part 2 will follow on July 17th. Your PDF is linked under the cover.

As Bad Machinery went on, and I was working on it in tandem with writing Giant Days, I started to struggle to write two "cases" a year, so I began to alternate them with lighter, easier to put together material. In 2016, between cases 9 and 10 I did a story called the Big Hiatus, where I tried to wo

Earlier in the year I wrote the second part of the "NEMS" story from 2020. I wasn't happy with the results and I consider it undrawable, at least, by me. So here, as a PDF download, is the rough comic script for all 32 pages of it it. Think of it as a very slapdash 32-page comic featuring a lot of f

Reverend In Love had been in my back pocket since summer 2021 as an idea, and at some point I'd broken it down into a list of pages with a view to drawing it as part of a Steeple volume 4. Then, in December, Max Sarin reminded me that I had said I'd write them something to draw. So I spent a week of

Steeple is on a break while I consider a potential 4th arc. It's kind of a wait-and-see on how volume three (out in August) does, as I can only draw one series at a time. But there is one piece of Steeple activity in 2022 for the faithful, and I very much hope you like it: a new special with art by

Steeple volume 3 concludes! I'm not sure when Steeple will return - I'm juggling a few things at the moment, and ready to move away from darker things for a bit towards lighter fare. But we'll get back there eventually. The next comic will have to remain a mystery until it emerges here in full on Fe

Sorry again for the slim pickings in recent weeks. I'm down to drawing the last nine pages of Steeple volume 3, pages that will run in January next year, and I feel like a man at the end of a marathon. As controversial as this may sound, I'm going to allow myself a break of a few weeks once I'm done

Here's the last of the New Bobbins e-books. There are a few scraps that weren't collected in these, when I next have a bit of free time I might do an odds-and-sods collection, but don't hold me to it. I'm much better at generating new nonsense than I am at curating old nonsense. PDF link below!

Here's the third of the New Bobbins ebooks, it's a short one, collecting the post-Mordawwa Erin and The Boy stories from 2016/17. There's a new essay at the start that might only be notable for containing the synopses of the issues for my rejected Mordawwa pitch. PDF at the bottom of the post. The f

Here's the second of the four New Bobbins collections. PDF link at the bottom of the post. It runs to nearly 100 pages, with a new essay. Thank you for being a patron!

The Scary Go Round site has had to be taken down, so my older archives are unavailable. I'm not sure when they'll be back up, so I'm collecting some of them into pay-what-you-want PDFs on my Gumroad. $3-and-up subscribers will get the four New Bobbins collections (A Magical Pink Being, Out Of The Wo
