Giant Days 2016 anthology piece
As a thank you for all the feedback for the poll last week, here's a Giant Days short I did in 2016. I did a couple of these; after making a lot of silly mistakes in the first one, I feel like the second one was much better. And it's an interesting bridge between the Giant Days minis I did before the series went to Boom to be drawn by other artists, and now. You can see what the series might have looked like if I'd been drawing it all along.
if this proves tough to read in the Patreon app, there's a PDF version linked below.

Oooh! This got me rereading Giant Days, and I was quite amused to notice that 'Do what thou willst', which I thought was a linguistic Tredregyn oddity, is in fact present across the Bobbinsverse :D https://ibb.co/album/2qDtXM?sort=date_asc
What is it around the chest of Numerical Meritocracy's chest and do I need one? I probably need one.
It's one of those battery powered press-lights. I saw a band early in their gestation (Metronomy) who had them taped to their chests.
I have quibbles with the order of Bread Woman's best songs, but glad to see them getting the recognition they so deserve.
Breadwoman is a real music artist, she drives around LA in a car decorated on the inside to look like an aquarium. https://annahomler.com/breadwoman/
The Mannheim Steamroller poster! I saw them live at my university in (checks watch) 1982!
Just wonderful. I started with Bad Machinery, so your art style is very comforting to me. Like a nice cup of soup on a cold day.
John Allison looks young, (and is, compared to me,) but he's been doing fantastic work for decades now!
He doesn't look *that* young these days, believe me
Daisy really cracked the country code!
Delightful!
I think of Susan’s struggles every time I hear the song! By fate, when I put More than Words on during my commute home today, Spotify decided to follow up with Bette Davis Eyes, which also always makes me think of an exchange between Shelley and Amy as to what they would do with said eyes (the conclusion being ‘marbles’). Another bonus Allison song association is that I can’t hear Morning Train without mentally appending Shelley’s ‘… to find me waiting for him, With a gun!’
Ha ha, can't remember what prompted it, but I was just thinking the other day about how every song Susan tried to write turned out to be "More Than Words".
Aww, I miss these characters.
