NEW BOBBINS BOOK 1
The Scary Go Round site has had to be taken down, so my older archives are unavailable. I'm not sure when they'll be back up, so I'm collecting some of them into pay-what-you-want PDFs on my Gumroad. $3-and-up subscribers will get the four New Bobbins collections (A Magical Pink Being, Out Of The Woods, End Of The Road, Hard Yards) here for free.
This work has never been (and probably never will be) collected in any form, so this is your first chance to see it in high resolution. There's a new essay, a few little extra notes, and a new cover for each.

Could you tag this as "Bobbins" and "PDF"? (I saw books 2-4 via the "PDF" tag, then deduced that this would be a week earlier.)
Tagged!
Reading this quickly brought back the drama of forgotten Erin, and The Boy's entanglement with Esther in a camping-trailer and Welsh devil bears. Damn, John Allison, you have truly created a very messy comic universe, but it's all the more fun for it!
Amazing! Thanks so much for sharing, I can't wait to dive in!
Thank you for putting this up! It’s wonderful to revisit these in a collected format. Makes me long for the SGR collections I didn’t pick up as a poor student back in the day... those would be an absolute treat if they resurfaced in any way!
They're all on the Gumroad but I don't think they'll ever be back in print. There should be another one of these New Bobbins sets for subscribers over each of the next three Fridays.
Thank you so much. These are some of my favorite strips for some of my favorite characters. I really enjoyed reading these again. I want to dig up Mordawwa 666 now.
Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you!
Interesting, I still had a tab open from the ScaryGoRound site as I just had completed the New Bobbins series there. A "Refresh" and it vanished! What I miss as an intermediate level reader, is the timeline from SGR. Even after reading all the older stuff first time through (excepting original Bobbins), we still referred to it on occasion.
I wrote up (and periodically update) a document that centralizes all this information if you're curious, there's a "Great Tackleford Timeline" section https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CV5WheT39BQc7vBXmy25IeC4tvTLKAcwzTcennh4hK4/
What a nice thing for you to do! Thank you John!
What a delight!
Some of my favorite strips are in here: Neil's Chimmus miracle, Mildred's New Years resolutions, Amy's big amniotic party!
Thank you!
Spiffing, Smyth!
This is just exactly what I needed.
You have not idea how much this makes me happy ♡!
John, I'm so pleased and excited! I have almost all of your print books, going back to the early days, and am thrilled to have these collected now. FYI if you did a kickstarter or just printed them for sale I'd be the first in line.
Thanks Matthew, it's the logistics of such a thing that put me off, I have no doubt it would fly on Kickstarter. I just have a limited amount of mental energy left at the end of the work day as it is.
Happy Christmas John!
This is wonderful news!!! Thank you so much!
Thank you Johnny 💜
