My brother had a giant teevee just like that. He passed it to my parents when he got a bigger but flatter one. Druids used it as a place of worship. They don't make them like that any more. I don't know what they used, but I don't think there is any left.
Oh, I love the cheeky Toto nod from Lottie, who clearly thinks the lyrics in that song are rather nonsensical...
Also ever since I found out he's a Kiwi, Gerg's voice is now identical to Korg as voiced by Taika Waititi.
I had somehow previously missed that Lottie's hair has purple highlights to differentiate sections. It works well! Also, I'm always impressed at the different clothes/outfits you have the characters wear.
Yes, before finishing every page, I chase round with a little colour lasso tool to make all those lines purple. Then, when I look at it later having lettered it, I have to go back and do the three bits I missed.
Perfect read!
Thank you!
To achieve UBER-COOL status, change the Wordle URL in the penultimate panel from "nytimes.com" to "wordle.nyc". The NYT version phones home, whereas the pristine original wordle.nyc is wholly self-contained, once initially downloaded. [Nothing in the above should be construed to suggest that any particular reader's status was not already, and unimpeachably, UBER-COOL.]
You've changed my ways if not my life, Nathan.
I grooved (ha) on the details in that used record store — it could have been any of half a dozen that were scattered around Ottawa when I was a teenager. (I think one of them in fact had a door pull meant to look like half of an LP.) Did you model it on a specific one, John?
Yes, it's a real one - Record Collector in Sheffield.
Sir Robert Mapplethorpe? Not to be confused with the chap who took the exquisite photographs of the nice young men and the flowers.
Just a little nod towards the arts
One of the many things that keeps me on team John Allison is the delightful energy in posing for each character in each panel. You can always read everything not just in their faces, but how they sit in a chair and cuddle their hot drinks or play with their phones. Sooo good.
