Ah, the Bat-like Man Returns!
What can I say... the comic I didn't know I needed nor deserved... but I definitely enjoyed it!
I saw your comment on the Q&A post about "Giant Days x Batman" and I honestly couldn't tell whether you were joking! A quick Google search later, it finally persuaded me to sign up for a higher Patreon tier, and I enjoyed it :) Just as a minor correction, I think the tag should be "PDF" (upper case) so that it matches the other posts.
Oho! It never occured to me that it was a real thing. My maths was out because the purple is two more than the orange. Fascinating.
So very enjoyable! Mind you, thinking about the orange and purple following the '1 more each time' sequence of the other balls, I could only get to 195. I think you'd need another ball again to get it to 210. Possibly chartreuse?
You've made me doubt myself but I just took it from the Wikipedia page for Snooker Plus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1959_News_of_the_World_Snooker_Plus_Tournament#:~:text=The%20extra%20colours%20allowed%20a%20maximum%20break%20of%20210.
Oh I love this. The British batmobile is so perfect!
I honk for chod.
New York London Paris Munich, everybody's talking bout CHOD
Detective Comics Comics is as foolish as its name implies. This is the best Batman comic I've read in decades. Makes me want a lot more outlaw comics.
Well this was absolutely perfect. I now want a mega-crossover between this and "Archie meets the Punisher".
What a phenomenal classic!
A delight from beginning to end. I honked out loud at 'White Cliffs of Dover'. Thank you, Mr Allison.
I was going to download and read later - I had things to do. But when I saw that cover I told my things to go to hell, this was far more important. Fantastic!
This might be one of the best things ever to happen on my birthday. Thank you, Mister Allison! And... on page 14, is that the original cat-like woman, Jocelyn Wildenstein?
Wellllll spotted!
A subtle, yet resonant cry out against you-know-who for taking Max from you
No one was happier than me when Max got a big two book to draw.
Hooting all the way through! Then off to Wikipedia to see if that game exists followed by more hooting because it does! Thanks for this - right cheered me up 👍
Well this was glorious. MOAR PLEEZ.
Well McGraw's reaction is just perfect for that strange traveler arriving to Sheffield. :D Love it so far!
See, this here is why Marvel is kicking DC's butt right now. Gwenpool penned by Christopher Hastings? Marvel says "We'll give you a full 25-issue series!" But a Batman/Giant Days crossover by the equally brilliant John Allison? DC is afraid that they might publish something worth reading. I'm in awe. A snooker serial. Outstanding. Go try a crossover with Marvel. Let's see Charlotte take out the Scarlet Witch.
Genius, maverick and subject of a large bounty.
You are far, far too good to us, Mr. Allison! That was BAT-astic!
I like how you used your thin line style on the cover. That's a neat little thing to see since I know it's something you've been thinking about over these past few months.
I was going to use it for the whole thing but I don't think it's ready to let loose on a project - the dead line weight can show up weaknesses in a drawing -- quite brutally -- when you can't use line weight to add emphasis.
Well, I thought my life was very long from complete. I was wrong.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you. That was just the tonic I needed, absolutely banished my mid winter blues!
Oh my god, this was amazing. Exactly what I didn’t know I needed! And more Giant Days!! There’s so much more to tell there. Good show, John!
Giant Days? OH JOY!!!!
Okay, that was one of the best things I’ve ever read! I love it so much. So many great jokes. Well done John!
Quick, someone let Matt Reeves that the sequel to The Batman is already written! (Also, we need the epic "Aquaman Meets Fishman" story to become reality.)
Seriously, though, this was AMAZING, and DC should be ashamed of themselves for not making it official.
The last thing I was expecting at the other end of that link, which makes it the best thing to find at the end of that link.
Spiffing work Jeeves!
My life so much better right now because of this
So, here's the thing. I've been basically vibrating with excitement since I saw. I can't put it into words because I'm so over the moon about this entire thing-- I've been telling people for YEARS that I would love a Bat story by you and now it's like Christmas morning. B is my *favorite* and has been since I was three, and I would read a hundred more issues by you.
https://youtu.be/23cSs1rvbUQ - this was sheer joy. Planning my Bat Mentile cosplay now.
I never knew how much I needed this story until I read it.
Many libraries are now fine-free and/or offer fine forgiveness programs!
That's true here in the imperialistic former colonies, certainly.
This is wonderful.
Giant Days in 2022!!! Yaaayy!!
I'm only half way in but this is dynamite work, thank you so much for blessing us with MYSTERY COMIC comic!
Detective Comics Comics we're fools for not moving forward with this.
You’ve snookered me with making this into a digital dream without a print reality. Alas. (I’m not actually upset, I just wanted to use snookered in a sentence in response for obvious reasons GOOD JOB JOHN)
The greatest of joys, a lifetime of surprise, a blessed day.
