REVEREND IN LOVE: BONUS MATERIAL
Reverend In Love had been in my back pocket since summer 2021 as an idea, and at some point I'd broken it down into a list of pages with a view to drawing it as part of a Steeple volume 4. Then, in December, Max Sarin reminded me that I had said I'd write them something to draw. So I spent a week of my Christmas break writing and roughing out this Steeple special.
I thought you might enjoy seeing the script I sent Max as I drew it, so you can compare and contrast my rough version with the final. I think there are a lot of very funny faces in the roughs. I've also attached the script I typed up from the roughs. They're both downloadable below as PDFs.

I just finished gushing about the finished comic over in the previous post, and now you share these behind-the-scenes treats! You spoil us, Mr. Allison!
Hah! No shade on your sketching but I was sure that was Des Fishman in the thumbnail!
That's really interesting, thanks
I love seeing the sketches - thanks for sharing these.
It's amazing how much of the character comes across in just those few lines. But then we know them pretty well.
So that is how the sausage is made. I also admire your "roughs" are like my "bests".
