This is a weird, never-to-be-repeated one-off but I hope you like it. I had a lot of fun making it. If you have any questions, put them in the comments. I'm sure you'll have questions.
STEEPLE returns on May 26th, with a new two-part story, "Hell On Wheels?"

A follow up would be more than acceptable. Please and thank you
This was so damn amazing. Would read the hell out of an X-Men slice-of-life comic series. My favorite moments are always when they have a barbecue, play baseball, etc., so this was PERFECT. Thank you.
Wonderful John. Thank you.
I enjoyed the hell out of this, even though I had a brief panic when I came to the Bullpen page and thought you were ending this on a cliffhanger. (Reason being I couldn't afford to buy comics regularly in the 80s, and my teenage years and early 20s are a quagmire of unresolved plotlines.) Also, *** DEFEND BOZ SCAGGS AT ALL COSTS *** (If the Reavers want Mamet, they're welcome to him.)
Fantastic layout on Page 22. And Page 20! I had no idea Planet Terry and Royal Roy were real comics.
So fun! I really like the bit on page 22 where Kit is running to catch up with the baddies. Very cool layout!
Some flamin' gallah has been watching Home And Away!
Flamin' drongos!!
Impressive.
I was a Batman kid, so I didn't read many/any X-Men stories in the '80s (I actually had to look up who the Reavers were!), but this was great! I might have to go pick up some back issues and see what I missed.
Perfection. The fact that 80s comics and John Allison didn't cross paths sooner is a crying shame.
I was having a rough Monday morning but this really peaked up my day better than that coffee I still need to drink would.
I loved it. You absolutely caught the 80's Marvel vibe.
Yes.
Fantastic
Best X-Men comic I've read in decades!
Splendid
Delightful. Bonebreaker reminds me a bit of Shauna's no-good brother. I hope he didn't become a cyborg gangster!
I think he was more influenced by the outlaw punk stylings of the half man half tank.
Tom Selleck was the Iron Man we didn't deserve. Everything about this was wonderful!
I'm already giddy over a half dozen quotes and I'm not even halfway. "Did you forget that concerts have an audience?"
That was absolutely ridiculous, thank you.
I would have loved 80s mainstream comics if they were this good. 💖
Bravo!
Ah, when the X-Men were fun.
Kit in place of Courtenay Cox made me laugh!
Is that a young Weird Al in the audience?
This was the comic I didn't know I needed from my peak X-Men buying days then.
Nice and fun.
But.. how will.. Rom… :o
Poor Boz Scaggs, ahh well great fun, Thanks!
Personally, I like Boz!
