If anyone knows a suitably-sapphic (or sapphic-coded) movie for Nicole to obsess over as a kid, please leave your suggestions in the comments. :)

There are some people in the world who, when faced with such a bad situation, decide that it's best to handle it themselves, for a wide variety of reasons. Nicole is not one of those people. :)

Nicole is always an interesting challenge to write. The only thing she and I really have in common is the Nichiren Buddhism, at least demographically. And now, she's a major POV character in a whole-ass novel. So if I goof on her, please let me know.

Happy Halloween! Enjoy this segment about cannibalism. :) (Does it count as cannibalism if the person doing the eating is a vampire rather than a human?)

In case you missed it, I'm on a brief hiatus until the holiday arc. If you haven't yet joined the Discord, here is the link: https://discord.gg/7sKcdvB6x CaFae Latte Season 93 - TikTok Compilation (YouTube)

The downside of writing immortals is that, by virtue of being immortal, they would have lived through and done so much stuff, but you can't write all of it. Martha is especially fascinating to me, and I'm hoping to carve out more time for her. Plantation owner, enslaver, Daughter of the Confederacy,

You know those vampire "romance" stories, where the centuries-old man falls in love with a teenager? Yeah, we're going to be exploring the actual ick that would be. So this is something of a trigger warning: the girl Vlad is "dating" is nineteen, so at least she's over age, but there's still an impl

Janine's veganism was an honest-to-god throwaway line that I completely forgot about until a fan reminded me. Given how vampires need blood, she probably wouldn't be able to actually pursue that until the modern day, where we have a wide variety of meat and dairy substitutes that taste like the orig

It definitely pays to be an eclectic history nerd. The French and Scots teamed up so many times against the English, sometimes in formal military alliance, other times the French would just bankroll Scottish rebellions to piss off the English and offered shelter to any escaped refugees. It's kinda h

Good afternoon, lovelies! I've been getting comments/DMs from patrons who have not received their due goodies even after we figured out the whole stamp thing. This is a message directly from Fiend that should clear things up. The tl;dr is that everything should be sent out by the end of this month (

Well, it took 40 uploads, but we're finally at Chapter Two! The first modern-day chapter after the prologue!

We are finally in the modern day! So obviously, this segment takes place about five minutes after the end of Heart of Iron, and will be the prologue of Heart of Silver. Essentially I'm trying to find a way to give a recap of the last book that tells new readers what's going on while still providing

This is technically a re-post, since I already uploaded this chapter when I initially wrote it months ago. But there have been some slight changes, so I figured I'd post it again so you could all see it slot neatly into the timeline of these characters.

If you haven't yet joined the Discord community, here is the link: https://discord.gg/xegE3HAXX I can't believe Halloween is just next week. And the midterms are just a few days after that! Curious to see how the hell that goes... *cries in American* CaFae Latte Season 92 - TikTok Compilation (YouTu

This is Chapter One, right after the prologue. And with that, the 1970s come to an end! Just got one more chapter to upload, and then it's off to the modern day and the actual main plot of this damn book! :D

This is planned as the pen-ultimate (re: second-to-last) chapter in the novel, with tomorrow's excerpt being Chapter One, essentially creating a time-loop experience for the reader. Assuming everything goes well in the rewrites/revisions, which...who knows.

"I'm cute and good at arguing in front of a judge" is probably going to be one of the "quotes without context" once this thing is done and I get to the marketing.

Patrick needs a lawyer. Whoever will that be...?

The court case does not go well. Patrick & Rachel react.

Playing around with formatting and POV here. Lemme know what you think!

Apologies for the delay! The electric company really screwed Nic over, costing him not just a day without power, but all the work he'd already done on the video but hadn't had a chance to save. More MMIW themes! And the '70s! Also mentions of homelessness. That 1960s vocational program sucked. Also, the American Indian Movement is one of those episodes of history that really is a mixed bag. Yes, they did a lot to advance Native American rights and helped pull their unique troubles into the

Patrick gets a gift from a spirit! I'm sure that won't be important later...

TRIGGER WARNING: You know how I said we had MMIW themes? Well, we find the body. There's also the implication (and later confirmation) of rape.

"We just need to spend a little time in 1953 to set up the 1970s chapters and act as part of the bridge between WWII and 2025. So that should just be one chapter!" *Three chapters set in 1953 later... "...oops." TW: period-typical racism toward Native Americans, and we're hitting the MMIW themes wit

Okay, this chapter needs a little explanation. This one is planned for near the end of the book. For those of you familiar with story structure, it's slated for the end of Act 2, that sometimes-awkward transition into the climactic Act 3. Specifically, Patrick & Co get a hint that Janine might actua

I'm not sorry. :)

"Oh yeah. The Holocaust." So, trigger warnings: ~Patrick's company liberates a concentration camp (specifically Haunstetten) ~Did you know a good chunk of those prisoners were gay men and genderqueer people? And that instead of being freed many of them were simply re-located to different prisons acr

This chapter's kinda all over the place, so I'm honestly not sure about it. But again, problem for Future Christina, once the entire manuscript is written out and I have a better idea of the shape of the story.

This is a fundraiser video! If you can, please consider donating to RAINN, the largest hotline for sexual violence survivors in the United States. (If you're outside the US, look up your local rape crisis center/hotline and consider donating to them!) If you haven't yet joined the Discord community,

I'm sure this won't have any consequences whatsoever. :)

'Tis a bloody battle with a character death.

Hey, it's everyone's favorite French vampire! Well...most of him.

"How do I have these two characters talk about trans issues in 1944 that still scans for a 2026 audience? Especially when one of them is a high school dropout? ...welp, if this doesn't work, then it's Future Christina's problem!"

Seems I forgot to add the 2nd half of yesterday's excerpt! I'll put it here for simplicity's sake. Sorry about that! Turned out, being a POW in a war camp was only slightly more boring than being a soldier in a war camp. Lots of sitting around doing nothing, waiting for someone with more authority t

Rescue mission!

Hey, look at that! I managed to characterize a villain! That usually doesn't happen until 4 rewrites in.

And we're back! Thank you all for your patience. I got a nice head start that should make regular uploads much easier and longer, if not last through the whole book. A note on this chapter: Patrick asks a question in Gaelic. I had to use an internet translator, so I honestly don't know how accurate

Behold, the "I have nothing planned for content this week so I'm gonna do whatever tf I want in the laziest way possible" video! In this case, I just did an "audiobook" version of my short story "Grocery Run." Which is free on my website if you want to read along. If you haven't yet joined the Disco

We gots the cover art! It's the same artist--Alenka Linaschke--who did Citadel's cover. This probably won't be widely available for another few days, so no sharing!

Behold: Gene the Genie! (or Jean the Jinni, depending on which spelling you prefer) They'll be playing a vital role in the upcoming Spooky Season arc!

Good morning, lovelies. So. In the regular chaos of content creation, plus the added chaos of 4 family birthdays and Geek Con all in August, I forgot to check in on the artist I had booked for September. They never got back to me, and I have no backup. So there will be no September art this month, a
