HEART OF SILVER: Excerpt 28

Okay, this chapter needs a little explanation.

This one is planned for near the end of the book. For those of you familiar with story structure, it's slated for the end of Act 2, that sometimes-awkward transition into the climactic Act 3.

Specifically, Patrick & Co get a hint that Janine might actually be alive in the 21st Century, but they have no way to verify except their resident clairvoyant, Nicole, who needs a physical object that has a strong connection to Janine. So Patrick gives Nicole the burnt remnants of that wiry bracelet he made for Janine (and yes, kept for 80 years) so she can use her magic to figure out just what the hell happened the night of the fire.

Thus, why the first two chapters are the bracelet's POV.

But with that, we're officially out of the World War Two era! Onto 1953!
