Homegrown Passion with Katy

Well, I thought I was going to have one last beautiful harvest in the greenhouse before saying goodbye to my tomatoes and peppers for the season… but things didn’t go quite as planned! 😉 I’ve got some gorgeous tomatoes, colorful peppers, jalapeños, and a few little troublemakers that apparently dec

Well, hello my sweet friends! ❤️ I've been a busy girl out in the garden! I just finished planting 10 pounds of garlic, and let me tell you, I certainly got my hands dirty! 🧄🌱 We prepared the garden, planted all those little cloves, and tucked everything into a beautiful blanket of oat straw for t

I had such a fun surprise in the garden this week! 🥔❤️ I went out thinking I was just taking care of a few fall jobs...and then I started digging. I honestly wasn't prepared for what was hiding underneath that little raised bed. 😂 I'm also checking on the loofahs, topping our tomatoes, picking str

I’ve been waiting all summer for these crazy loofahs to finally be ready… and today’s YouTube video is the whole adventure. 😂 I harvested them, peeled them, cleaned out what felt like a million seeds, dried the sponges — and then took them to the farmers market to see if anyone would actually buy o

I’ve spent the last couple of days out in the loofahs filming our next YouTube video, and I wanted to give you a little peek before everyone else gets to see it. ❤️ These things have been SO much fun to grow, but figuring out exactly when to pick them, how to peel them, and how to get that beautiful

Just because summer is winding down doesn’t mean the garden has to be finished yet. 🌱🍂 I wanted to share this week’s printable with everyone here on Patreon — including my free members — as a little fall gardening gift from me. My new Keep Growing This Fall guide is all about the things you can st

As the summer garden starts winding down, it can be tempting to just clean everything out and leave those beds empty until spring… but there’s a better way. 🌿 I put together this new Growers Circle printable to make fall cover crops feel simple and doable. Inside, I go over a few easy choices like

I thought this little guy might be the perfect way to welcome some new friends to my Patreon. ❤️🐄 Meet Dozer, our little orphan calf. We lost his mama shortly after he was born, so we stepped in and have been bottle-raising him ever since. And as you can probably tell… he's not quite so little anym

all is one of my favorite times to plant garlic, because a little work now can turn into a beautiful harvest next summer. 🧄🌿 I put together this new Growers Circle printable to make the whole process simple — when to plant, how deep to plant, spacing, hardneck vs. softneck garlic, mulching, spring

Well… I told you there might be a few more. 😉❤️ Yesterday was my first time trying a real lingerie/boudoir-style shoot for Behind the Greenhouse Door, and I definitely didn't take just a handful of pictures. 😂 So tonight I'm sharing Part Two of my little red lace experiment. I think I became a lit

I know I'm a day late with my Saturday surprise… so I thought maybe I should make it up to you tonight. 😉❤️ I bought this new little red lace set and decided to try something I haven't really done much of here yet — a proper boudoir-style photo shoot just for Behind the Greenhouse Door. I'll admit,

Those chilly fall nights are getting closer, so I wanted to put together a simple printable to help you know what to harvest, what to protect, and what can handle a little cold. 🍅🥕🥬 This guide breaks it down by temperature, from those first cool nights in the mid-30s all the way down near 28°F, w

I really was just trying to get these sunflower stalks cleaned up and ready to dry… apparently my little red dress had other plans. 😂🌻 This is one of those completely unscripted farm moments that I almost left on the cutting-room floor — but then I watched it back and thought, welllll… I know exac

I’ve got a brand-new video for you tonight, and I think this one turned out really cute. 🌻❤️ Summer is starting to give way to fall here on the farm, which means those giant sunflowers finally had to come down. And you know me… I couldn’t just cut those beautiful stalks down and throw everything aw

I wasn't actually planning on making a video last Sunday night… but sometimes I think those turn out to be my favorite ones. ❤️ I'd been away from the farm for four days, and when I got home I discovered that some of my poor lettuce seedlings had gotten WAY bigger than they should have. They were al

Okay, I knew filming in that little dress in the melon patch might get interesting… but I wasn't expecting this. 😂 While we were shooting Sunday's video, my dress decided it wasn't quite as interested in staying where I put it. Needless to say, I caught it on camera — and that little blooper defini

I have another little garden printable for you today, and this time I wanted to make sure every one of my Patreon members gets it. ❤️ We’re getting ready to clean out our sunflowers and start transitioning the raised beds for fall, but there’s one thing I’m definitely not throwing away — those big s

I may have enjoyed that Bay Harbor balcony a little too much the first night… because I ended up back out there again. 😉 This time the sun was gone, the lake had turned that gorgeous deep blue, and I decided the white lace needed a night off. So… I brought a little red instead. ❤️‍🔥 I only took a

I’ve been walking through the garden lately and noticing something I really didn’t want to see… the first signs of powdery mildew are starting to show up on some of my plants. 🌿 It seems like every year about this time, after we’ve had the heat, humidity, cool nights, and a garden that has gotten j

Well… after waiting ALL summer, today was finally melon day! 🍈❤️ Our melon experiment definitely didn’t go exactly the way I planned. They were supposed to grow beautifully up the trellis…and instead they pretty much ignored me and took over the ground. 😂 But you know what? We still grew melons! I

Bay Harbor gave me the most beautiful sunset right outside my room… and I couldn't resist stepping onto the porch to enjoy it. 🌅❤️ I slipped into a little white lace, went outside, leaned against the railing and just watched the sun disappear over the water. It was such a beautiful, quiet moment. B

Every once in a while, even this farm girl needs to get away from the greenhouse and have a little fun. ❤️ While I was up around Bay Harbor, Michigan, I took a little adventure over to the SkyBridge — and of course I brought you along with me. 😉 I rode the chairlift all the way to the top, took in

Hi everyone! Just a quick little update from me. ❤️ Things may be a little quieter here today, but for a good reason! I'm changing the scenery for a bit and spending a little time around beautiful Inn at Bay Harbor — and of course, you know me… I couldn't resist bringing the camera along. 😉📸 I'm w

It's a cloudy afternoon here on the farm, which means it's actually the perfect time for one of those little greenhouse jobs I do every single week. So I thought… why not bring you along with me? ❤️ Today I'm taking these adorable little 15-day-old mini bok choy plants out of the nursery and moving

Well… I was following our old excavator up the driveway when I started finding pieces of the track lying on the ground. 😳 I think that was its not-so-subtle way of telling us it was time for another repair! This little guy is 26 years old, and if you've been around Homegrown Passion for a while, yo

Those giant sunflowers around the farm have finally reached that point where it’s time to start thinking about what comes next… and I definitely don’t want all those beautiful seeds going to waste! 🌻❤️ So I made you a new Sunflower Seed Harvesting & Drying Guide that you can download, print, and ke

Well… tonight I’m taking you somewhere a little different than the greenhouse. 😉❤️ I’ve been thinking about adding something new to Behind the Greenhouse Door for a while now. You normally see me working around the farm, playing in the greenhouse, picking vegetables, getting dirty and sharing all t

You saw the loofahs in Sunday’s video… but I might have hung around the trellis for a little while after we finished filming. 😉🌿 They've grown into such an incredible wall of green that it seemed like the perfect spot to stop working for a few minutes and have a little fun in front of the camera.

If you watched Sunday’s video, you know we had a LOT going on around the farm — loofahs, melons, potatoes… and, as usual, a few surprises along the way. 😂🌱 So I thought this would be the perfect week to add another printable to our gardening library. When exactly should you harvest your potatoes?

Well… this growing season definitely had a few surprises waiting for me. 😂🌱 In my newest Homegrown Passion video, I’m taking you around the farm to check on my melons, loofahs and potatoes — and some of this definitely did not turn out the way I expected! The loofahs absolutely took off, the melon

Well… I may have had a little more fun filming this one than I was supposed to. ❤️ Tonight I'm taking you out into the garden with me to check on my melons and loofahs, and they have definitely been enjoying this summer weather. The loofahs are getting huge, the vines have taken over the trellis, an

I think loofahs might be one of the most fun things I grow. 💚 They start out as these little seedlings, turn into vines that seem determined to take over everything in their path 😂, and eventually give you something you can actually dry, peel and use around the house. So for today's Bradwood Farm

Have you ever picked a jalapeño or hot pepper and noticed those strange little white, woody-looking lines running across the skin? They can look like something went wrong with the plant, but they’re usually nothing to worry about! Those marks are often called corking, and they can happen as a pepper

Tomato plants can turn into a jungle amazingly fast…and more leaves don't necessarily mean more tomatoes! For today's Bradwood Farm Gardening Library printable, I'm digging into one of the jobs I stay on top of with my indeterminate tomatoes: pruning and managing those suckers. I put together a visu

The flower picking may have been finished… but I wasn't quite ready to leave the garden yet. 😉🌸 After I wrapped up filming, I stayed in my white dress and took a few photos among all those beautiful summer flowers. What started out sweet and flirty gradually became a much more revealing little flo
