add-on: choose animation style in my mods!
now the animations in my mods aren’t strictly tied to gender anymore.
you can set the animation type individually for each sim!
requires the xml injector
you’ll find the option in the debug sim menu.
here’s how to access it:
1. open the cheat console and type "testingcheats true";
2. shift + click on a sim;
3. choose the animation style you’d like them to use.
there are three options:
feminine animation type
masculine animation type
default ea animation type
notes:
the chosen style will apply to all my mods at once (but only the updated or new ones). you can’t use “female” animations for one override and “male” for another.
i also added a “default” animation option for overrides. you might want to use that for elders, since my custom animations feel a bit more youthful.
tip: with the mod “always testing” by tmex, you don’t need to type “testingcheats true” every time to access the debug menu.

- read in bed
- new music listening interactions
- endless grief
- nap with baby in bed
- cry mod v.2
- lap reading for infants & reading while infants nap on laps
- hang out and chat on the bed
- intimate lap kiss
- phone call animation override
- computer animation override
- painting animation override
- relaxed tv animation override
- eating at the table animation override
i’ll update all my mods, but i’ll need some time for that 🌷

hi simkatu, I have a flip phone override so my sims arent using the default phone. I noticed my sims arent doing this particular animation, but your others work fine. Could the flip phone override be a conflict?

It's the regular ingame phone, you won't need to download a phone for this mod to work

do elders automatically have the default animation without this add-on or do they use the "youthful" animations by default? i use almost all your mods :)
without the add-on, elders will still use the animations from the override. the add-on is needed if you want to set a specific animation style for specific sims, so it’s basically per sim customization

thank you for the kind words! yes, my mods recognise gender and set the appropriate animation automatically. this add on is only needed if you want to give a sim an animation that does not match their gender

could you please specify what exactly is unclear about the mod?
This might be impossible because I have no idea how modding works, but do you think there is a way to disable your custom animations on specific objects? For example, I have a lot of CC couches and seats that don't fit the typical sizes of EA furniture (like the back is rounded or something), so when my sims sit on those items to watch TV with your override, their back is a good foot from the back of the couch/chair. I love the override and don't want to disable that, I just want to disable it for that specific piece of furniture!
that’s such a great suggestion! i’ll definitely keep thinking in that direction — right now it seems impossible without overriding every object in the game 🤪 but maybe i’ll come up with something similar to solve this issue!

I don't know what is in store for the future, but thinking about animations, I would love a new one for taking a nap on the kotatsu. Idk, it looks odd the way they did it in game. oooh this is really cool! there's so much potential for poses with certain vibes so an individual sim can have an entire archetype (like all the poses for a very formal/polite sim having upright posture, all the poses for a lazier sim having super slumped posture, etc.)

Hi! I just had a question. Do you think you can make a mod, in which an adult sim can carry a child sim? Not a toddler, but a child? I feel like this is so realistic and i miss it a lot in the Sims. Just wondering!
