new music listening interactions
this mod adds two new interactions for your sims when listening to music: calm listening and melancholic listening. includes custom animations tailored for both men and women.
base game compatible
requires the xml injectorupd. march 20, 2026:
- added a positive coping effect (ep "life and death");
- improved autonomy for the interaction.
upd. june 25, 2025: now works with the new add-on that lets you change animation type for each sim individually.
actions are added to stereos and headphones.
1. at first you need to turn on your music system, choosing your music type
2. and then selecting either "calm listening" or "melancholic listening".
autonomy is enabled, which means sims will sometimes perform actions independently.
transitions are smooth.
calm listening:
requires a living chair, sofa or bench nearby.
helps reduce negative emotions.

Hi, I love your mods – they're awesome! But I have a problem: the Animation Type add on doesn't work on this mod, it works fine with other mods (like "Computer animation"). I started a new save, only XML mods (Tried both v1.117 and v1.125), the folder tested with two young adults（one male,one female）, still no luck. The computer mod changes animation, but music mod stays stuck. Thanks again for your great work!🥰
Hi, I hope you're doing well. I use the autonomous version of this mod, and I really liked how the Sims would just listen to music on their own. I even used to set it as an interaction in my businesses. But for a while now, they haven't been listening autonomously anymore. Do you happen to know if it might be conflicting with another mod? I don't have any other music or stereo-related mods.
hi! in the latest update, i adjusted the autonomy settings so the interaction would happen less often, since i noticed sims were sometimes doing it too frequently. i’ve attached a version without those changes in case you prefer the previous behavior: https://simfileshare.net/download/6178826/

Hello :) I saw Eve in this thread is having the same issue as I am. The Options aren't showing up despite the XML injectior being the right verson and the file being redowloaded. Can you maybe reupload the files again? You could've possibly accidently uploaded the wrong file? If not, then possibly there's a EA bug or smth.
hi, sorry for the slow reply! i tested these exact files many times in my game, both on the old version and on the new one. i just downloaded the file again and launched a fully updated base game, bought a stereo, and the interaction showed up right after i turned on the music( i am really sorry, but i do not understand why the options do not appear for some players 💔
Hi I love your work!! I'm having some trouble getting this to work. I've tried moving all my CC out to just this mod and the xml thing so it's not conflicting with any of my other mods. It shows that i have those mods when the game loads as well. I also cleared the cache to see if that helps but that didn't do anything either. I'm super new to modding so it definitely might be user error but i'm commenting to see if you have any idea what else it could be. (i also tried it with different chairs, sofas, and beds)

hi! I’m in love with your mods, you r such a beautiful creator! all your overrides work for me, unfortunately except this one. I have the option to listen calmly, but for some reason when you press it the sim doesn't seem to know where to go and then cancelling action. tho there is a sofa and access to it is open. all mods are updated and cache is cleared, still doesn't work 😭 if you know what else could be the reason, maybe I'm doing something wrong, I would glad to be informed!!! cause I like ur overrides sm!!

i’m really sorry to hear that! i checked in my game and the interaction shows up for me. could you please check if you have the updated version of xml injector installed, and make sure it’s not inside more than one subfolder? xml injector is the mod that allows custom interactions to appear in the game, and most of my mods rely on it
hey so i downloaded this mod and for some reason it never shows up on my stereo or headphones, im not sure if its me or maybe theres a process to downloading it? but im just curious because it never works

i'm really sorry to hear that! i just checked, and the mod is working fine in my game. first, i’d recommend making sure you have the updated the xml injector file in your mods folder. also, try clearing the game cache by deleting the localthumbcache.package file in the sims 4 folder. hope this helps!

Hi! I've been using your mods for a long time and love them. I recently downloaded a few Animation poses for listening to music and wanted to ask if you've considered making more possibilities for this mod? Like lying in bed and listening to songs? (Relaxation in the game is so lame that you can't even read a book🤣) I really like this mod, but right now it often only triggers "sadly listening to a song". I used the translator, I hope it doesn't bother you, thank you~!
