Act 81
Mel
“I’m not sure what to think about myself. I feel like I should despise me, kind of,” Mel slowly admitted.
That’s because you experience a side that was completely hidden from you before. It can be pretty confusing, yeah.
“Who am I anymore, Lusje? I was never interested in these things, never. I thought it was just who I was. But now I feel like I have been broken and disconnected all those years—"
Stop. Don’t go there.
“Why? Isn’t that standing to reason?”
No. I told you… Familiars are different. They can bring out all sorts of things in you, even the worst, even stuff that doesn’t feel like you at all.
“But ‘bringing it out’ — doesn’t that imply that it has been inside me all along, just repressed?”
Look… truth is: I don’t know if your lack of interest in anyone is just how ya were born, based on some traumatic experience, a phase, or a subconscious choice. But I don’t need to know, and neither do you. You’re valid anyway. What I know is that all of you humans are born with the same programmin’. Unlike us, all of you have the resources to become both saints and mass murderers. It’s within your code, if ya get what I mean. But the code doesn’t determine who you are. You do. Just because you don’t use the assets that are in your library, doesn’t mean there’s sumethin’ wrong with ya.
“I.. I don’t understand some of the implications you said, but I think I get what you want to say.”
You’re not broken. You find new mosaic pieces, and it’s up to you if you want to make a picture out of them, look at them, or toss them back. Shall we check if something changed?
“Yes, please.”
What do you think about the girls at the strip club?
“Uhm… I think they are way more skilled than people give them credit for, and I hope the audience is treating them well?”
What about… Dita von Teese?
“Iconic vedette and entrepreneur.”
Johnny Depp?
“Who?”
For fucks sake. Gregory Peck then.
“Fantastic and brave actor, helped in creating one of the most important movies of the 60s.”
Vampires?
“Uh… eh… bloodsucking… entities?”
A nudist beach filled with naked bodies of every age and gender?
“Uncomfortable. But …. but good for them.”
A tall, strong, cop, smelling like anger and lust, putting you in chains and pressing you against a wall in a dark alley, saying “Don’t say anything, handsome, or I will have to forward that to my superiors.”?
“H-highly inappropriate??”
And if it was a woman?
“Slightly more peculiar, still very inappropriate.”
And what about Bastet?
Mel faltered. His body reacted, tensed up, pulse quickened, just from hearing her name.
“B… beautiful beyond comprehension. Sensual and alluring….. A true goddess….”
Okay, okay! Stop, urgh. I’m just as much god as she is, ya know. But Whatevs. I hereby declare you Bastetsexual.
“Come again?”
I mean, that wasn’t my usual 300-question survey, but to me it’s pretty clear that all that’s going on is the common familiar attraction. Even though it’s hitting pretty hard with ya.
But, ya know, my sweet little existential crisis, even if this would be your start into a nymphomaniac descent full of sins and fuckery, that still would be ok. It wouldn’t take away the truth of your previous lifestyle.
Mel thought about Lusje's words, while eating his second burger. He could feel the beginnings of movement stirring inside his lower belly, and for the first time, it didn’t disturb him. Instead, it made him feel strangely tingly and excited.
He decided to let the input rest for now, to think more about it another time.
“Do… all demons have familiars?”
The greater ones, sure.
“You, too?”
Sure.
“Are you… like… uh… indulging in them, sometimes…?”
The snake laid its head down on the sand, looking at the foaming waves coming close and retreating again.
Nah. I used to, many years ago. But nothing good ever came out of it.
“How so…? Wasn’t… wasn’t it good, what happened between Bastet and me?”
Hell no. That was pretty fuckin’ rad. But my familiar humans… they are different. None of them see me. They only want something from me. Power and Vendetta, usually.
Mel felt a stroke of guilt. Technically, power was the reason they were in contact, too.
Or they are confused Satanists, painted with blood like clowns, thinking that I am Satan.
And don’t get me wrong, using a power-hungry zealot as a sexslave has its own merits. They use me, I use them, yadda yadda, everyone’s happy. Except for when they die, but that's a hazard of the profession.
But you… you saw Bast. I mean, you really saw her for who she was. As much as you’re capable to as a mortal, that is. Even without her offering you something grand. I
can understand why she wanted to taste you so bad.
Mel reached out his hand closest to the snake and began to stroke its scales. They were cold on top but warmer closer to the sand. Lusje lifted its head for a moment to look at Mel, then put it down again.
“I’m… I’m sorry that I’m not a good sex slave for you.”
That’s okay. I knew that and decided to approach ya anyway.
“But for… for what’s it worth… I think I can see you, at least… a little.”
Thanks kid. I like to think so, too.
Then the snake wriggled out from under his hands and slithered more into his field of view, now looking at him.
Back to the juicy stuff. What the hell was that stuff you said about you wearing your best outfit? Hahaha I almost pissed myself!
Mel averted his gaze, blushing, and not trying to think about how it would have looked like when his tattoo would actually urinate out of his arm. “I was arrogant to think it would do her justice…”
Well, pride goeth before the fall on your knees, I always say.
“You never said that.”
You just didn’t hear it when I whispered it at night.
Mel didn’t know how to respond to that.
Nah, you dramatic fuckling, you looked dashing. She truly did like what you wore for her, and what you didn’t, even more.
With prickling heat, Mel felt new redness crawling up his face.
“She was… so nice… and so overwhelming, and stunning… and all the stuff she said about… my gender and body… that was so nice, too…”
Ya know, I told ya all those things, too. About gender being a shit concept and stuff.
“That’s true. And it also meant a lot when you did. And also everything you said to me today. It’s just…” Mel replied, flustered and guilty, looking for words out of his reach. “...Sorry.”
I’m just pullin’ your leg, bub. I know things hit different when your true, personal goddess is saying them. Like “I want you to have my babies”, for example.
Lusje snickered lewdly, making Mel blush even more.
Instinctively, he put a hand on his belly, partially in disbelief about the truth of what had happened, partially trying to feel if that piece of her had already started to change his body. Maybe also somewhat protectively.
Well, shit in my eyes and call me holy, you’re really into that stuff now, huh!
Mel’s face grew even hotter, and a weak, unconvincing “No” left his lips.
Don’t lie to me, Melchior. You said that ‘no’ like a nun in heat.
Lusje was right.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy cunt! My human experiences sinful feelings outside his familiar’s realm! I bet your body is tingling. Do you like the thought of being her tool? Her servant?
Without him being aware about it, his hand brushed over his belly in small circles, just like Bastet has done, while he felt even hotter, not looking at Lusje.
What a nice, tasty twist of events, I dare say! I shall feed on that some more. Tell me, did you like the thought of having no worth except as she seemed fit for ya?
Mel’s eyelids fluttered, and he closed them, not objecting.
And when I look at you, touching your gut like a horny fucktart, am I correct in assuming that you like the thought of being her personal whore?
Mel’s breathing accelerated. He wanted to disagree but couldn’t find his voice.
Even her… treasured breeding stock?
A pant escaped Mel’s mouth.
The demon snickered again, his laugh full of nasty joy.
Look at you getting aroused just from me talking about it. You look like you’re one sentence away from climaxing, O Mel the moist.
“Lusje!”, Mel exclaimed in a high pitched voice.
Okay, okay, I get it, those were too many ‘me’-words. But it would be nice if ya’d learn my language, too, one day.
---
After that, they shared some more words —b oth too little and simultaneously too many for Mel’s comfort — with Lusje asking questions about what he liked the most (the feeling of being safe and appreciated, while at the same time feeling reduced to nothing but an object), how Bastet tasted (“good” was all Mel could answer without perishing), and what had been his favorite position (thinking about that was tough, but kneeling felt the most appropriate), and Mel doing soft check-ins now and then to see if the demon truly was comfortable with what had happened, but also commenting on that little shared kiss between them. (‘That was nothing but a tribute to the great and powerful Lucifer’, Lusje had answered, but Mel thought he heard a flustered undertone).
Then they talked about how things would continue. Just as usual, was what they both agreed upon.
And lastly, if Mel would like to see Bastet regularly.
Mel just finished his last dish, crumpled up the paper, and put it in the bag, leaning back on his elbows, now with the hint of a bump outlining against his shirt. It was most likely from all the food, but he couldn’t help but feel butterflies inside his stomach after seeing it.
“Of course…” he answered the obvious truth. “It makes my head spin, thinking about it, so much so that I can barely think straight…”
Lusje chuckled.
“But… but that’s precisely why I can’t.”
The snake’s giggling stopped, and it looked at Mel, curious.
He sighed.
“It’s… like she said. If I’m close to her, I can’t think about anything more than to p-pl … to… you know. To entertain her. And no one but her. But I know that’s not who I truly am. Or maybe I am, but I want to be… you know. A magician.”
Both isn’t possible?
“I don’t know, Lusje. Maybe. But maybe… it’s like playing with fire. I can… can barely think as it is. My head, that’s usually full with ideas for future tricks, settings, gadgets, creations… I have a hard time pulling it back in. And a hard time caring. And that’s just after…one time. How will things be if we see each other more often? Because right now, thinking to be nothing but her genderless, timeless, unpretentious t… t-toy … it’s painfully tempting. But I … I also know that… while she wants me… she does not want this for me.”
Lusje blinked at him. Then, she slithered onto him, curling up on his middle, taking away the sight of his enticing curve, while giving comfort at the same time.
That’s pretty adult real talk, Mel. I’m impressed.
“Thanks,” Mel said, gifting Lusje a small, albeit weak, smile.
I get what you’re saying. Bastet is a drug. And you’re not strong enough to not succumb to it.
“Not yet, anyhow.”
That’s my guy. Good way of thinking. And ya know what’s another chill thought? To enjoy the consequences of your tryst whenever it washes over ya, as long as it’s lastin’. I mean, it’ll probably never happen again, so savor it like a shameless whore workin’ for free. You can whine and self-loathe afterwards.
“I’m not sure I get—"
Lusje’s tail patted on Mel’s abdomen.
He immediately felt this strange new tingle between his legs and understood.
“O…okay. I try”, he accepted, meakly.
---
While they silently watched the sun vanishing, a snake passed by. A real one. Not used to snakes as a threat and confused about being suddenly confronted by a second one, Mel just stared. Lusje seemed to be just as surprised, because he, in what appeared to be a stroke of mental derangement, said (verbally, in human language): “Fuck off!”
Mel had never seen the demon interact with a real animal before. He hadn’t even thought about it. But if he would’ve done so, he would not have guessed that it would go like that. He would’ve been less confused if Lusje had bullied the snake and waterboarded it in the ocean, then taken its lunch money.
What was almost even stranger, however, was that the snake seemed to understand, because it lifted its head, then turned around to slither off quickly into the flora behind them.
