I love the idea of the movie dropping the spy shit and the rest is just Bond and Vavra doing father and son shit. They play backyard cricket, they barbeque in the park, Vavra sits through an eisteddfod eyeing his watch the whole time until Bond comes on to play the oud and Vavra lights up despite Bond struggling his way through Itsy-Bitsy Spider: Turkish edition.
These no notes episodes have an almost wtyp energy to them
29:30 When I was doing ancestry research for school I found out a lot of people on the small swedish island my mom's from were named James, but it was spelled and I presume pronounced "Shimms"
wouldn't Giselle from the first Kingsman movie be peak-Klebb? Klebbum Opus?
Vladek Sheybal, who played Kronsteen, has a fantastic Wikipedia bio. He escaped Nazi concentration camps twice, starred in a bunch of Ken Russell movies, and "dated both men and women, but formed no long-term relationship." Who is Bond compared with Kronsteen, indeed?
protogel klebbs kronstein
Did somebody ring the Klebster?
Also in this book, Kleb is described as a "neuter" (Fleming describes an asexual person). She does try to woo Tatiana as some sort of sadistic test.
The "did she find your technique too violent" joke is based on what happens in the book, where that's just explicitly what happens. Darko's having sex with a woman in his office, a bomb goes off, she freaks out and tries to leave, and he doesn't let her. When he tells Bond this, Bond understands that he raped her, and is full of admiration at his "pirate king / g*psy personality"
This is the first place I’ve heard a non-Scandinavian say Blåhaj and I was not ready for it.
blahhh hadge
Abi as your best friend (the listener), I like hair down idgaf Abi. Go fuck up a labour MP
I am waiting to see if they do a fully improv episode. Moonpussy: Never Once Forever would be astonishing.
Belk the Kleb!
Talk like a pleb, get the Klebb
what a Klebber podcast
:( upon restarting patrion I cant get any podcast player to download these. Thried link and tried uninstalling player reenstalling back it is a spector plot.
I've had success with Podcast Addict, in case you've yet to try that one. Good luck!
free episode title for long into the future: What No-Notes Octopussy Does to a MF
"Oh shit, Goldfinger is next!" SO HERE I AM, DOING EVERYTHING I CAN
Ask not for whom the Kleb Klebs. It Klebs for thee.
Alice's commitment to "I know you've drunk champagne during sex." is admirable
I just fucking love you guys so much.
*joker voice* to a lesbian this is a normal shoe
Listen carefully 004. A pair of low-heel oxfords. Sensible shoe for a skirt suit. Inside, a poiso-tipped blade capable of killing within ten seconds.
This is without question the funniest episode you all have done. I probably shouldn’t have been listening to it whilst driving because I almost passed out from laughing so hard.
Tried to listen while applying makeup. Laughing too much, very picasso kinda look, had to pause the pod and start my face again.
I hadn’t seen the film the first time they covered it. I still haven’t seen the film the second time and this feels like a fever dream.
this really is the professor x fingers funtime hour
I think Alice's false memory of Bond riding in the back of a melon truck is implanted from the Simpsons episode where Homer does that to get to the "put it in H" car dealership
I liked the part in Goldfinger where Oddjob just absolutely Klebbed that guy.
Okay, for the next No Notes, I got an idea. I call it the Moonpussy Challenge. One of you is randomly picked to try to gaslight the other two into inventing a memory. The gaslighter wins if she succeeds, the gaslighter loses if the other two figure out who is the gas lighter.
These make me SOOOOO happy. No notes Bond reviews forever. Also, we request Klebb tshirts!
Scribbling “Protogol klebbs Kronsteen” inside every copy of From Russia with Love like it’s a secondary school copy of Of Mice and Men
topshelf episode
What are you going to call the no-notes episode for "Goldfinger"?
No-notesfinger?
Well Devon I did enjoy listening to that, and the answer to what is wrong with me is many, many things. Also, Klebb'd shirt when?
Klebb'd shirt when?
My pre-order is ready!
WHAT THE FUCK IS THE IRON LAW
In any bureaucracy, the people devoted to the benefit of the bureaucracy itself always get in control and those dedicated to the goals that the bureaucracy is supposed to accomplish have less and less influence, and sometimes are eliminated entirely... of course. Like Stalin or Gender identity clinics.
It was a flower truck! Not fruit!
Yup - but the mental image of the melon truck is incredibly hilarious.
Get your cheeks klebbed
Genuinely thought the helicopter bit was a setup for a Mission: Impossible joke
They have to remember the movie buy creating bits I love it!
Is the third time around going to be a rewatch of the movies?
For the third go around, Alice doesn't have drops. Or she purposely mislabeles them so they have to guess which drops go to which movie.
i think this episode contains the most breakdowns so far, possibly tied with cars
Really excited for when Alice walks these two through "Bondcharov"
If ur thinking abt doing merch, im going to open my commissions soon!! Id love to do some designs for yall! The scenic "next location" postcards sound especially fun lol
The thing I remember most about Goldfinger is how fully Harold Sakata committed to the program preparing for the movie
Can't wait for an inscrutable "Protogol Klebs Kronstein" shirt Edit: shit, "Fuck around and get Klebbed" is good
My favorite part of From Russia With Love was when General Gogol looked directly down the barrel of the lens and said, "It's Klebbin' Time"
You're really beggin' for a klebbin'
For those curious, the Iron Law states that between minimum low-bass reproduction needed for worker survival, small bureaucracy size, and high output democracy, you can only pick two, and in doing so the Israeli Navy will compromise the third. Hope that clears things up
What do that first and third thing mean? "High output democracy" and "low-bass reproductive"?
I love how chaotic these flavoured episodes already are ❤️
dr. no notes was a banger among bangers, delighted to see the format’s return
moonpussy episode when?
Get GPT-4 to write a script for a lost Moore film called Moonpussy and do a table read imo
