I've decided to change the name of the game. There's a simple reason for it. A game with the same name I'd picked came out on Steam recently. When I was choosing the name, I did check that nothing on Steam was using it, but that game hadn't released yet at the time. My first reaction was disappointm

Chapter 1 of NOIR: Skin Deep is done. Tomorrow the build starts going out, beginning with the $25 tier, which gets early access first as it always has. The other tiers follow from there, and I'll post here as each one unlocks so you know the moment it's yours. Getting the chapter into your hands fas

Quick update on where NOIR: Skin Deep stands, and it's a good place to be. The writing for Chapter 1 is finished. Every scene, every branch, every line of dialogue is on the page. When I started this game I mapped the whole story before writing a word, and that paid off exactly the way I hoped: the

Hi everyone, It's done. With Eyes Closed - Season 2 is now live on Steam. Many of you have been here through the whole build, watching Season 2 come together chapter by chapter. You're the reason it exists at all, and the support that carried it to the finish line means more than I can put into a po

Kira Tanaka doesn't look like she belongs in a police building, and she'd be the first to agree. She's the youngest in the forensics division by a decade, and she's the reason a hard drive that's been damaged past what anyone else can read still gives up what's on it. *Name* — Kira Tanaka *Age* — 23

You learn the sound before you learn her: two quick snaps of a latex glove, and whatever case you're working is about to get its first straight answer. That's Dr. Thea Mercer — the department's forensic authority, and the person who tells you how someone actually died. *Name* — Dr. Thea Mercer *Age*

Half the homicide division has quietly filed Jenna Whitfield under "furniture" — twenty-four, blonde, five-foot-three, the one who fetches the files. They're wrong about her, and a few of them are going to feel stupid about it down the line. You'll be one of the first to clock it. *Name* — Jenna Whi

Candy has no second layer. She says exactly what's in her head about half a second after it gets there, likes who she likes out loud, and would honestly not understand why a person would do it any other way. She's the first woman who really talks to you in NOIR: Skin Deep, and the least complicated

Samara works the register at a neighborhood store, carries a full engineering course load, runs her own budget to the dollar, and handles every piece of it herself — not because she's always done it this way, but because there's never been anyone else to do it. Name — Samara Reyes Age — 21 Height —

Most people you'll meet in NOIR: Skin Deep come to you through the case — across an interrogation table, at a scene, as a name in a file. Elena was in your life before any of that. By the time the story opens, the two of you are already seeing each other — nothing defined, nothing promised, a thing

When I announced NOIR: Skin Deep, I promised I'd introduce the women one at a time — properly, not a line each, but who they actually are. I'm starting with Victoria. She's the first one the case puts in front of you. Name — Victoria Ellison (née Marsh) Age — 38 Height — 5'10" Role — the victim's wi

With Eyes Closed is wrapped up, and I've been looking forward to talking about this one for a while. Here's what I'm building next. Hi everyone, I’m currently hard at work on Chapter 11, and I can feel the weight of this update—it is, after all, the grand finale of this season.
