Meet the cast: Jenna Whitfield
Half the homicide division has quietly filed Jenna Whitfield under "furniture" — twenty-four, blonde, five-foot-three, the one who fetches the files. They're wrong about her, and a few of them are going to feel stupid about it down the line. You'll be one of the first to clock it.
*Name* — Jenna Whitfield
*Age* — 24
*Height* — 5'3"
*Role* — a detective's aide in Homicide
She's from Simi Valley — a quiet town an hour and a world away from Mirage Bay. Her father spent his career in this same department and retired a sergeant, and she's the youngest of three, the only one of his children who followed him into the work. Criminal Justice degree with honors, through the academy at twenty-two, and she asked for Mirage Bay on purpose — her father's old department, and a real city where she wanted to prove she could make it, not a quiet suburban one. Eighteen months in, she has never once complained about the work, however far beneath a detective's shield the task sits.
She's got the kind of face that belongs behind a beachside coffee counter, not in a homicide bullpen with a sidearm on her hip — pretty in a way that's immediate, with a smile that lands fast and makes people want to see it again. It's a face people take one look at and stop taking seriously, and that's exactly how they miss what matters: she's meticulous in a way none of them bother to be. The notepad is never out of her hand, and she reads every page of every file she touches, down to the dull ones — which is how, every so often, the detail nobody else bothered with turns out to be sitting on page fourteen. There's a real investigator's mind in there, sharper than the errands it's spending itself on. It's only a question of who notices first.
Which brings it to you. In a division where she mostly gets a "hey" or a finger pointed her way, you're one of the few who say "good work" when it's earned and remember her name without trying. It costs you nothing; it lands on her harder than you'll know. She works your requests before anyone else's — no tactic in it, just the reflex of someone whose effort is finally being seen. She's careful about it: no staring, no lingering. But her eyes find you across the bullpen more than the job strictly needs them to, and she'd sooner pull a double shift than admit it.
More of the cast soon. 🖤

She must have some flaws, nobody can be perfect at everything 🤩. Is she hiding "something" from us? 😏☕.
Secrets? You'll just have to play to find out. 😏☕
