Meet the cast: Elena Voss

Most people you'll meet in NOIR: Skin Deep come to you through the case — across an interrogation table, at a scene, as a name in a file. Elena was in your life before any of that. By the time the story opens, the two of you are already seeing each other — nothing defined, nothing promised, a thing that hasn't been given a name yet.

Name — Elena Voss

Age — 26

Height — 5'6"

Role — the woman you're already seeing — no strings, no promises

She's the one part of your life the case doesn't reach. When the badge comes off, this is where it comes off: her studio, her couch, an evening that wants nothing from you except that you're in it. She's never set foot in a precinct. She doesn't know what it means to book someone — and when you let something about the day slip, she doesn't chase it the way another cop would. She watches your face and asks if you're alright. The city you carry around all day doesn't reach the room she's in. For a few hours, neither does it reach you.

She paints — a real painter, gallery shows and collectors who come back, not a rich girl's hobby, though there's old money behind her that she'd rather you didn't notice. Copper hair, freckles, a face that doesn't keep its secrets well. There's one she does keep, underneath all of it — I'll let you find that the way she'd let you find it.

Here's the part she'd never say out loud: she's already fallen for you, and not halfway. You aren't a way to pass an evening to her — you're the best part of her week, the thing the rest of her life arranges itself around. She listens like every word matters. She isn't careful about the way she looks at you.

For you it sits lighter than that — not because you don't care, but because, this early, you simply haven't decided what she is to you. That's the open question of her story: whether you let it grow into something real, or whether she stays the woman you see now and then to get out from under the case for an evening. Where it goes is yours.

More of the cast soon. 🖤
