S2E6.5: The Railway Man
GIRLS' NIGHT!
With Devon away, Abi and Alice are left to consider a nice peppy sleepover movie, in which Colin Firth gets tortured by the Imperial Japanese Army and is left to rebuild with only the love of a beautiful woman and the redemptive power of Asperger's Syndrome.

I did not expect to cry while doing the house chores but here we are

This was an amazing episode, thank you!
I can't really think of a joke for this one. My grandad was captured at Singapore after arriving on a ship after it's fall. It was his birthday.
eyyyyyy I've seen this one (I think the only other episode I've been able to say that for was Spy Kids 2). We watched it back in my high school history class, maybe even a year after the film first came out so I hadn't picked up on the commentary on masculinity. Glad y'all were able to give me a new appreciation for this movie.
like all girls night sleepovers this ended with existential inquiries and sissy hypno
Speaking of French, have you considered doing a Le Magnifique episode?
Caught me off guard hearing y’all reference Journey’s End, holy shit I would love it so much if you guys reviewed that movie.
While maybe not a good film for an episode, I feel like an interesting movie to watch after this one would be Merry Christmas Mr Lawerence, which goes one step further with male relationships in a WWII POW camp. Also fuck, Ryuichi Sakamoto is so cool.
Not one to double comment but Alice you'll be interested to know that that crispy burned rice in Persian has a name, tahdig, which literally means "bottom of the pot."
Having a sleepover with two trans women describes my personal experience in middle and high school. Of course they were just eggs at the time (because being trans hadn't been invented yet), how much we've all grown.
Man it’s rare that y’all review a movie that I’ve both seen and loved.
I did 2½ Maths A levels, and I can assure you that this has not helped me in any way.
I fucking love you girls, amazing episode.
Girls night! Every man's dream, the chance to dissapoint two beautiful women at once! Really good pick as always, I can't belive I'd never checked this out before but I will do now.
