Episode 25.83 Mad Mission 3
Alright let me initially make the case for this movie: This is the single biggest movie in Hong Kong at the height of the classic hong kong era of movies (the year 1984), and it parodies beats and characters from the bond movies.
Now, the anti point here is that uuuuuuh it's fucking impossible to find a non-illegal link to watch this movie because modern movie distribution companies are just that, companies. And someone in a fucking boardroom has made the decision that preserving movies like this simply isn't worth it.
So here's a podcast episode about a reasonably ok movie, largely to make a wider point about movie preservation.

I know this is such an old episode, but I grew up watching Aces Go Places as a kid and probably still have the complete VCD trilogy at my childhood home
Also lol yes Shirley Chang with short hair and a police uniform did a NUMBER on me as a young bisexual
You know, I honestly thought Alice was the stabilising influence on this podcast but Abi's absence proves me wrong. Not that I'm not enjoying the gleeful carnage that has ensued while she's away!
Dear Lord please do Con Air for the Patreon
Was actually kind of disappointed to hear "Skyfall soon" . I don't want the stream of surprise movies to end!
Hate it when a movie gives my browser a prion disease
I hope to convince you that "for your height only" deserves your attention as it's in a similar vein to this movie except it's funnier.
Loved this. Please tell me you are planning on watching the stunning Pierce Brosnan vehicle Taffin (1988).
Devon’s reference to Harrier de Bois made me realise that I would like a Disco Elysium episode. Can we have one of those please?
I was chuckling, sensebly, throughout
I am George Lazenboy. I listen to every episode, big fan. Do NOT email me or my agent.
my friend bought the set like 10-15 years ago
FWIW the Mad Mission movies have received pretty decent Blu-Ray releases with English subtitles (under the alternate Aces Go Places title) but you do have to shell out to import them from Hong Kong. lots of similar films haven't seen a release since the days of VCD and getting any of this stuff for legit streaming or rental is impossible
They are also now available on Tubi! Well, most of them. The first one doesn't appear to be (at least not on Canadian tubi), but this one is on tubi!
Definitely don't go to 'yts [dot] mx' for a good quality (partial english dub) torrent of the film that won't open a bunch of tabs 😉.
