[MW Bonus Batch] Black Spine
Weapon (Greatsword), Rare
Component: Monstrosity (nergigoblin) horn
You don’t see many creatures walking around with weapons crafted from their own kind. This, alongside their unwavering zealotry, complete disregard for their own safety, and perpetually prickly disposition, is just another way in which the Blackspine nergigoblins stand out from the pack.
Wind-Up Strikes. When you take the Attack action, you can replace the last of your attacks with pulling back this sword and charging up for a powerful strike. If you do, the next attack made with the sword before the end of your next turn causes a shower of spikes to burst from the blade if it hits its target, forcing each creature other than you within 5 feet of the attack’s target to make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. If the attack’s target was a creature, it has Disadvantage on this saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d6 Piercing damage. You lose this benefit early if you become Incapacitated or drop the sword before you make the attack.
If you hit with a charged attack for the second consecutive round, the damage is increased to 3d6. If you do so for the third consecutive round and subsequent ones, the damage is increased to 4d6.
------------------------------------
Very rare variant: You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. If you hit with a charged attack for the third consecutive round and subsequent ones, the spikes on the sword become metallic, granting you a +1 bonus to AC until the start of your next turn.

Oh yeah, this MH stuff scratches that itch.
we've been meaning to scratch ours for ages! XD
So if someone has two attacks a round, they lose the second attack and on the next round before their turn ends they get the effect?
yes! Basically you spend your second attack "charging" so in the next round your next attack does the extra effect! And you can chain that into a second charge that will deal more damage!
