[MW Bonus Batch] Godmane - CR 15-16 Large Monstrosity
Rajang + Couatl + Switch Axe
“Esteemed L’Arsène Upin, Though we are flattered by your interest in the magizoological sciences, and always welcome spirited academic discourse, we must respectfully ask you to abstain from further correspondence insisting that the enraged state of the godmane apes be officially denominated ‘Super Simian Mode’. It would be unbecoming for our prestigious society to stoop to such infantility.”
— Letter from John Badall, Chancellor of the Borderless Union of Magizoological Sciences
Horns. Feathers. Overwhelming amounts of radiant energy capable of cooking a Humanoid alive. All who venture into the territory of a godmane must keep an eye out for those three simple identifiers, so as to avoid the fatal mistake of confusing the fearsome primates with mere giant apes. Though smaller in stature, godmanes boast twice the power of their lesser simian cousins, and at least ten times the ferocity. They are the true kings of the jungle—a title earned through brutal conquest and challenged only by soon-to-be dead fools.
Uncontested Champions. Godmanes saunter through their home jungles as if they own the place… because they do. These arrogant apes can often be found napping out in the open, belly-up, confidently daring the world to come for them. The world, wisely, seldom does. Few creatures are able to contend with the extreme aggression and vicious disposition of godmanes, known for laying low titans several times their size with terrifying ease. And if, by either skill or miracle, some rare opponent manages to hold out against a godmane, they soon come to regret it—this simply signals the monstrous ape to take the fight seriously and unleash the full might of its radiant rage. Then all heaven breaks loose.
Dangerous Ennui. Such is the might of the godmanes that their domains soon grow eerily quiet— any creature with a shred of survival instinct, from humble Beasts to legendary Dragons, knows to steer clear of the apes’ primal fury. This can present quite the predicament to neighbouring communities, for a godmane without something to brutally pummel into fine paste is a bored godmane… and a bored godmane soon goes looking for trouble elsewhere. To avoid having their homes trampled by radiant apes with nothing better to do, those unfortunate enough to live in proximity to a godmane often hire adventuring parties to capture other formidable monsters and release them into the godmane’s territory. The ensuing fight typically keeps the great ape content… for a day or two, at best.
Heavenly Meals. Like most apes, godmanes are omnivores, and will devour anything within reach when hunger strikes—though dubious reports of these creatures consuming entire trees and using the branches as toothpicks should be taken with a grain of salt. Tall tales aside, there is one delicacy they crave above all else, and relentlessly pursue at every opportunity: couatls. An adult godmane is capable of smelling one of these celestial serpents from over a mile away, and can easily wolf down a dozen in a single sitting. Most scholars agree that it was this steady diet of divine flesh that, over generations, imbued godmanes with their own radiant abilities—an ironic twist of fate, given that they now gleefully use those very abilities to hunt couatls even more efficiently

Also, please make bespoke companions for these crossover monsters! -cue "AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!" audio-
well one of them will get SOMETHING if it wins the vote! Let's pray its a familiar!
......-laughs in evil dm-
Would it sound better if instead of “…known for laying low titans several times their size…” it is switched to “…known for laying out titans several times their size…”? Absolutely love everything else! Looks like it could be labeled as a Furious Godmane
"to lay low" can mean "to bring or strike to earth", it is the correct expression :) thx tho! Maybe if it wins the vote we can make a furious one...
Are we getting armor, or a weapon from it??????? 👀
