What did we do this week? (August 9th 2020)
Fei: Updated the dream prologue's environment, more dreams and plots will later on reveal the mysteries behind all this. As the project advances, I’ll come back to all the dream sequences and refine them to a more and more intriguing and plot related experience.
I’m not sure however the slow motion and the slope level design goes along. I want the slow motion for the dream-like sluggish feel, but I also want a huge slope as at this point the player hasn’t mastered the gameplay yet and big slopes are really fun with normal speed. One serves the narration while the other serves the learning curve and entertainment pacing of the player. Both together kind of cancel each other so I’ll have to think about this more.
Leo : Because this is the first time we're creating an open world game, I used too many materials on the main city scene. This leads to a big performance issue, with a significant FPS drop.
As Neon Tail is a high speed skating game, keeping a high FPS count at all time is very important for players, so I decided to go back and rework it all before I get to making the next new district, even though this is a very boring and tedious work. It might take me a few weeks to get it all done. ORZ
I also added some accessories!
Yang : Recently Patreon and Itch io both updated their systems to make Payoneer, a new third-party payment platform available, so I’ve updated all our financial accounts (Itch io, Patreon, and Gamejolt). Boring stuff, isn’t it...@@
Here’s something less boring, I went to the zoo last weekend! :D
Look at this fierce looking bird!
See you next week :D
