Blood Moon

Greetings adventurers!

The outer planes don’t treat the laws of our physical realm with the same respect as you and I. In fact many of the beings there outright ignore them in whatever way they see fit. One such being was Lunassa. A powerful creature in its own right, it sought to bring chaos and entropy to this plane and hasten the downfall, bringing all of us to their world of darkness and insanity. It’s only for the bravery of a few that we didn’t succumb to such terror. In the end, they did get this really cool sword though! Give it a swing!

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, Foundry VTT modules, a filterable catalogue of all of our items, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

If that strikes your fancy, consider becoming a Patron

Design notes from Matthew:

When you design for two different systems, you sometimes run into the limitation of wanting to develop around something that one system doesn’t have. Then you have a choice to make if you want to try to cram someone from one system into another and hope it fits, or you can instead try to find something else that does in fact fit in each system and basically end up developing two separate items. That gets even more complex, such is the case here.

I had initially had the idea of building an entire creature and item around exploiting persistent damage in PF2E. I think it’s a really neat system with a flat chance for recovery that blends into the system quite well. There’s even certain feats that involve and play around persistent bleed which I found to be fascinating. The problem with that comes with the fact that of course there isn’t any bleeding in 5E.

My choice was to build out into fear instead of trying to shoehorn a persistent damage system with recovery into 5E. You can only fight a system so hard before you run into the limitations so I always think it’s a bit better to take a step back and figure out how you can fit what you’re making into the system without trying to drastically change it. It’s a good lesson for life sometimes too!

Later today we’ll be releasing Lunassa, the One More Thing for this month and it promises to be a bloody affair for your players. We hope you enjoy the more odd entry into our creature katalogue as I’m certainly excited to eventually bring it into a campaign of mine!

We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
