One More Thing: Lunassa
Greetings Adventurers,
We've made it to the end of June which means it's time for another One More Thing release and this time we decided to bring an unstoppable agent of chaos and entropy. We wanted this being to be all about bringing the eventual end of the material plane to a head and what a messy little fighter we've put together!
As with all of these One More Thing releases, it's exclusive to patrons. If you're not a patron and want this release, please consider supporting us here. For patrons, you'll have to grab the files from your master post (linked below) or from the Katalogue to see the stats. We hope you enjoy it.
Design notes from Matthew:
I mentioned in the Blood Moon release earlier today that I had to end up designing two very different items and that actually fully spread to the creature as well in this One More Thing release. I might have name some things the same to save on confusion, but these creatures work in similar ways but using entirely different mechanics across the two systems.
It's actually been a really interesting exercise bringing two very different creatures with the same theme to both 5E and PF2E. It was an exercise in trying to balance a lot of different moving parts with builders and a big payoff spender in the end. Though the conditions I worked with in each system were different, how I pieced them together is actually quite similar.
I wanted this creature to play like it was building up to a big moment and when that moment hit, it would be something terrifying for the players. I think I really achieved that with the Harvest ability in particular. When suddenly you take massive damage and the creature that was injured is in good shape again, that could be a lynch pin in combat that I'm excited to see play out.
It's been nice getting to create while being back at home again. Last month I had to put together the creature and everything while I was on vacation and lets just say it wasn't the most comfortable place to do my writing. Lesson learned and I won't make that mistake again. Thanks for supporting us for another month and we look forward to bringing you even more magic!
