Slimer's Slurp
Greetings adventurers!
There are times when you’re gifted something and you simply do not ask how it came to be. That was the case when I received a crate of glowing green ectoplasm like slime vials. I really didn’t want to know how they were made, all I wanted to know is what they did and if they were toxic to keep around. The answers I got were as wobbly as the slime within the vial, but I had to say I was intrigued. I popped one open for test purposes and was surprised by the taste. Then I spent the next 10 minutes flowing between a floorboard. It was a rather odd afternoon.
Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

Design notes from Matthew:
Just because we’re in spooky month doesn’t mean that every item has to be scary in some way. Instead, we decided to reference a childhood favorite. I’m sure many of you will get the drink we’re referencing, but for those that don’t, just chalk it up to being an 80s/90s kid thing and enjoy the creation for what it is.
For the 5E version, this was pretty straightforward. Amorphous already exists as a trait and I had wanted to turn that into something that could be accessed by players for awhile now. This followed with the principle that I preach to not reinvent the wheel. When the game system already has the mechanic written somewhere, it’s okay to just give it an alternate use case with your items. That’s a perfectly fine thing to do and lets you make sure that your item fits in the power level of the game.
For the PF2E version, I had to be a little craftier and instead write a little more in the way of mechanics. PF2E is intentionally very stingy on movement tech. It’s written that way and balanced around it. That said, it doesn’t mean that you can’t step outside of the usual design philosophy so long as you offer appropriate levels of balance. Example, with this, I still made it a Squeeze action and still only granted a small bonus to that one thing. With it being limited as a potion, I think it stays well within the rules.
Though it was a rather simple item to bring to life, it was one of the ones that I was most excited to put into people’s hands because I hadn’t seen anything like it yet. I love hitting on new little ideas and giving players and NPCs the ability to do things that they otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to. That’s what it’s all about for me. We still have one more spooky item and a creature coming your way this month so stay tuned!
We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.

Hey just noticed that you never uploaded slimer's slurp to the katalogue! 🤢
Hey thanks for pointing that out! I had apparently scheduled it to go live a year after it was supposed to. It's been corrected now and can be found here: https://katalogue.abyssalbrews.com/creations/slimers-slurp/
