S3E13.5: Spy Kids 4
This week, our Spy Kids Correspondents Tom Walker and Demi Lardner rejoin us to crack into 2011's Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World, a genuinely good kid's movie.
Nate, our perfect and beautiful producer, referred to this 90 minutes of five people yelling at once as "great and really really funny but also the hardest thing i’ve ever edited in my entire career"

Listening to this in 2026 and wondering if we could get Tom and Demi back to cover another Robert Rodriguez flick - Desperado.
It's kind of melancholy that there probably won't be another Spy Kids movie for these two chaotic goblins to guest on the pod for after the 5th one. Maybe one day we can get a Spy Kids 2 prequel episode about Spy Kids 1, despite the sequel rule?
Listening to this episode is like getting my brain put in a hydraulic press but in a good way. Pure chaos.
"What else did Joel McHale do?... oh, do you remember Spider-Man 2 (2004)?"
I cannot believe that no one mentioned Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny during the Marisa Tomei discussion. The not only does she deliver an iconic speech about the car but the fits are absolutely unmatched.
Good pull for Peter Watt's Blindsight! Love that book.
"does your nose smell like anything" ok having had covid i know the answer to this and it is yes. completely losing my sense of smell for a while felt very weird it paradoxically felt like there was constantly a weird smell in my nose, like the lack of whatever smell is always there confused my brain. your nose has a smell you cant detect until its gone ig?
ive not started the vid yet but i need to just say the concept of the boy being trapped in time watching his father age and then die was fucking insane that went hard as hell
so glad you talked about that part and ALSO the reveal where they all take their masks off and its the same guy. that reveal and the whole concept behind it was so fucking cool to me as a kid an it still is now. spy kids movies just go hard as hell for no reason
Moe, closing a book as a tear runs down his face: And that’s when they realized they were no longer kids…they were Soy Kids.
As I say to every cis woman in public restrooms, balls.
God I remember seeing this shit in a theatre with the smells. This is giving me flashbacks.
I think to balance things you should just have Demi for spy kids 1 she is too perfect and I want to see what happens without Tom to reign her in
I watched this movie in theaters. The smells were in fact bad lol
Fingers crossed for a movie with Jessica Alba and Megan Fox as the lead characters
Great to see the "How to be a Spy" by "Author Unknown" in the latest Spy Kids: Armageddon trailer.
The guy who does Dingster Daily is ending is channel after the 3000th one.
When Devon hit the Akira line around 33:45, I died. Write my obit now
Some grave news regarding the Dinkster Daily channel: https://youtu.be/nsnVV5YVRE0?si=DQY698jeormJ3Jdg
The last "child" (more young teen) "prank" my husband experienced before leaving Target was a bunch of kids running through the shampoo and soap aisle spraying shit everywhere then running to grocery and grabbing the Mio drink addititive stuff and spraying that everywhere.
I thought that the *redacted* bit about Cumberbatch was going to be the thing that lived in my head after listening to this, and then Demi hit me upside the head with "Me Goosta" and I don't know how I can be expected to finish my work day now.
hearing Vine is from 2013: ok hearing Vine closed down in 2017: ok hearing it's been six years since Vine closed down: my bones begin crumbling into dust within the millisecond
skip to 51:03 for The Slander Hour, where November betrays her dear friend Abi by potentially ruining her career
"In the words of the twink trying to escape from my basement..." was beautiful. Good work November.
Abi doesnt usually miss like this but picard season 3 was unfortunately trash
Me Goosta fuckin shattered me
I literally dropped what I was doing I laughed so hard at it.
"No gay people in Spy Kids?" How dare they erase Fegan Floop! On a slightly more serious note, a big part of the familial narrative of the Spy Kids movies is expansion and inclusivity of people beyond your immediate family. Tio Machete, Tip Cheech, the Grandparents, the Giggleses, the ex-villains, THE DINKSTER, etc. It speaks to a more Latino way of looking at family, in my opinion and experience.
"Remember, Remember; Not Alice, November." <3
The second listen through is just as good as the first. That was some damned fine editing on Nate's part.
Gods I love it when Tom and Demi come on. Incredible energy.
Once again I beg you to do two films: 1. Lion in Winter- incredible film, Katherine Hepburn and Peter o Toole and please invite Eleanor Janega she will love it. 2. Scarlett Pimpernel- the first spy novel, a shockingly twinky Ian McKellan and Anthony Andrews, and it’s technically Eurospy!!!
good lord yes to Lion in Winter. Hepburn deserved her Oscar for Cuntiest Actor (i assume) (i haven’t checked)
9.11 scratch and sniff is asbestos, with a distinct lack of rebar... (in reference to WTYPP, not a 'truther')
This was so absolutely worth the wait, for the Gift of the Magi jokes alone.
I have two movies I want to highly recommend. The first is The Jackal and the second is Lucky Number Slevin. The later has Morgan freeman, Bruce Willis, Josh Hartnett and Lucy Liu and one of my favorites.
Fuck me Demi's closing joke really got me. Great stuff
So many bleeps! I thought Abi was gonna have a conniption!
Nate deserves an annual 50% raise in crab apes 👌
This episode is an all-timer. Also I would like to thank Devon for calling me a piece of shit and telling me to do something for Palestine, got me to stop spiralling and actually do something.
When are you guys gonna watch Darby O'Gill and the Little People?
My favorite part of this movie is that Tick-Tock has a high pitched filter over every line he says and there’s never any explanation as to why he’s the one time clone who sounds different
Somebody ring the dinkster?
This was worth the wait. Big ups to everyone, Nate especially did an excellent job.
I just want to take a moment to tell Abby that all of her fits in her recent video were fantastic.
great ep, and a huge o7 to nate for enduring the edit from hell
Spy Kids 5 was released in November but still does not have a plot synopsis on its Wikipedia page.
The surprise sequel/reboot has 4.3 on IMBD and I had never heard of it until this episode. I am so looking forward to that
Thanks for delaying the podcast so that it could release on my birthday, I really appreciate the thought
Cumberbatch prepped for 12 Years by getting into the Animus
Ricky Gervais is a perfect pick to play a dog because he loves to tongue his own asshole
He should have been an XL bully so he’s banned in the Uk
Thank you for all your hard work Nate!
as someone who suffers from Nose Tinnitus aka "a self-smeller" thank you for your kind acknowledgement of my condition
More Tom and Demi please!
2.5 minutes in and I can already understand why it took Nate so long to edit. Cheers
ME GOOSTA!!
thank you for your sacrifice Nate
Just looked it up. Vine was 2013-2017. It really feels like it was older than that
This is funnier than most other things
2 days grinding for the chaos path, let's go!
Like a paratroop in a glider, I wasn't expecting this sudden delivery. Thank you Nate
Strangely enough I saw this film in the cinema as a kid. The only thing I remember about the smells thing is how literally every smell smelled the same.
There had to be a big edit around that cumberbatch discussion, well done Nate!
Well now I have abs….. thanks for that
Jessica Alba is underrated and poorly cast. James Cameron typically saw further, giving her the lead in his 1999-2000 TV show Dark Angel.
I'm just surprised they let the guests talk for once
I remember watching this film in theatres with the aroma-scope scratch and sniff cards. they were pungent and off putting, it was thankfully tempered by the scent of popcorn in my hands. 4/10 could be good if done with a cooking movie
Please tell me Nate is in bed on his mimimi honk-shoo honk-shoo shit
Ahw yiss baby, here we go! 🤩
Thank you, beautiful people who live in my phone and make wonderful art
