ah, during Bourne's nightmare which takes place in Goa, you can hear a fluorescent light buzzing at 60Hz. this is a goof on the part of the film's creators, as electricity in India is at 50Hz.
In the german syncronisation, the hotel scene goes, he calls the hotel and says he wants to be connectet to the person, than aftergetting the information he is getting connectet asks the counter to see the room number.
also I'm from goa's neighbouring state and happy you mentioned konkani as the local language! bourne saying the line in english is actually better than the directors making him do it in hindi because that's their default indian language 馃槄
they stole the "guy standing in a room watching the news explain what his deal is" from this for the batman (2022)
If you were curious what the song Abi was referencing is, half the OST is variations on this one riff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsSJAuHDh3w
I am a known partisan of these movies, but I really can't see whats wrong with the editing; this isn't like Liam Neeson climbing over a fence shit, its very motivated by the action, and there's incredibly overdone audio throughout the scenes to let you know whenever something important is happening (like a newspaper being rolled up) Regardless very enjoyable video as ever, and you got at some of the big problems of the movie (fridging Marie)
i'm surprised abi likes the car chase, because its the hardest to interpret part of the film
Apropos of absolutely nothing... Enemy Of The State in the future?
i have the scum scores recorded but i also painstakingly measured the pussy clock on each of the bond films and did various statistics on them for your perusal https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Y_F6enB-STpIOHhLDiH1f8qBSdclWRpj1dCbvtI-cko/edit?usp=sharing
I watched the first Bourne movie, enjoyed it, and never felt the need to see any of the sequels. Thank you for proving my instincts correct. In terms of deutero-canonical Bond movies for a bonus ep, have you considered the 1998 Patrick Stewart thriller "Safe House"? It asks the question: What happens when Bond gets old and starts suffering from Alzheimer's?
doodoo doodoo doodoo doodoo doodoo doodoo doodoo doodoo
Really bums me out how the later Bourne movies felt the need to make the CIA the good guys. I think you can (generously) read the first movie as being ambiguous as to whether Treadstone is actually rogue or just "off-the-books". Supremacy really nails that one shut by going "no it was one guy and he did it for money because he was personally corrupt"
I only ever watched this movie dubbed and WHY is it that nobody ever casts like a single German for these movies lmao. They all sound like Google Translate.
Yes! Are there really so few German speaking actors? The Zurich cops in the first movie sound like a guy who has done 2 german classes doing what he thinks a Swiss-German accent is.
Abby's take on the Bourne Theme song sounds just like the MGR Revengeance menu music
I'm glad that I actually enjoy the leitmotif/theme of these movies because it is SEARED into my brain.
Abby starts doing the theme Me: That鈥檚 the opening of the Tron Legacy theme!
The podcast being in between names is unintentionally the biggest trans mood ever for me. I straight up had a placeholder gender neutral name for a year before actually picking my new, permanent name
Quietly dying a little inside every time Alice calls Julia Stiles, who, along with Heath Ledger in 10 Things I Hate About You, literally made my little tween self realize I was bisexual af, "allegedly hot".
The editing in these movies, especially during the car chases, feels like a shittier version of the editing style of Redline, a movie that pulls off quick cuts INFINITELY better than this franchise ever did
The editing of Quantum of Solace makes me jumpy, but the editing of the later Bourne movies makes me feel legitimately nauseous. These movies are nowhere near good enough to ask so much of viewers. I think it could work if it were limited to only a few moments as a way to show the information overload ol' Jason B. goes through, but they keep it up even outside of actions scenes. Hell, they even do it when the suits or civilians are talking and he's not around. It's such a bizarre decision.
bourne supremacy: one of the movies ever
Words which entered my tired brain "Jesus Christ it's David Jason"
I can basically track my high school years with this trilogy. I dutifully watched each one on release, because we were told they were Good and Important but I honestly found each one even more of a slog than the last. In this time one of the all time best Bond films came out, with one of my personal faves coming soon after, but the media narrative was that they were playing catch up to the groundbreaking, sophisticated Bourne films. And fuck right off.
I would like to note that Marie doesnt actually die in the books, they just, added that to the movies
I think they should do a time travel movie called Bourne yesterday
let's go boys* *not boys
