Update - 20/02/2023

Hello, everyone! How are you doing? I hope you all had a great weekend! I spent mine sick, again. I honestly don't know what to do anymore, I've never been sick for this long; I get okay for a week, I think it's over, and then it starts all over again: throat pain, coughing, fever, the whole thing. Super annoying.

But you're not here to hear me complain! It's been a super productive week; after a lot of back and forth, I think I'm happy with Riftbreaker's crafting system! It was important that it could pull from the random magic item generation rules, so it took a bit of thinking, but I managed. I'm quite happy with it, and it accomplishes all I wanted. So how does it work? It's fairly simple, actually:

- Collect all the ingredients you need for the item you want to craft. This is done via the gathering skill, which allows you to mine ore veins or gather plants and herbs, or via looting monsters, which will drop crafting ingredients.

- Once you have everything you need, you must make sure you have the required skill level for the item rarity you want to get. The rarer the item, the more powerful it will be, but the higher your skill must be.

- Design the item you want to make: if you're making a +1 dagger, you need to make sure you have the materials to craft a common dagger (or just buy one), and the materials you need to give it that +1 damage. If it's a potion what you're crafting, you need to know the right formula, and simply combine the necessary elements.

All crafting ingredients have an Aspect tag. This is things like "Death", Fire", "Boon", etc. Each magic effect you want to add to an item or potion has a series of tags associated with it. So for example, if you want your weapon to teleport to your hand as a free action, you need 5xAir and 5xPower. This can be any ingredients with the Air or Power tags, mind you! So it could be a bunch of precious stones, plus some herbs, plus some monster parts, or just the right combination of precious stones, etc. I think it's simple but effective, and I hope you guys have fun collecting ingredients and seeing what you want to keep or just sell. I will of course include a Crafting sheet, to track all this tuff.

Aside from working on this, I've been trying to get Godshard on Amazon, since I realize a lot of people like getting it there, especially people without easy access to DTRPG. It's been a real PITA because it's having silly problems with the book's frames, but I'm hoping it will be solved this week. If not, I really give up.

I've also been finishing another rather important project, which I've kept secret until now: a new version of Sacrifice. This was born initially out of necessity because of the OGL business which I'm sure you're all familiar with. WotC backed off but I still don't trust those bastards so I've removed all references to the OGL from Sacrifice, and changed a couple of terms, just to be sure (I realize these fall under the 5e SRD but I don't really care at this point). The game is 100% compatible with the version available now; I've just adjusted a few things here and there but there's really nothing worth of calling this a second edition; it's more like Sacrifice v1.1. The biggest change is how saving throws work; I moved away from AD&D save throws (which I honestly never really loved) and changed them to how they work in 5e. Which is funny because that's how I had them in Disciples of Bone & Shadow, years before I read 5e. The second biggest change is the layout and contents: I have completely redone the book's layout (as a matter of fact, it is now larger, 6x9 inches), included a lot of new art (courtesy of ORB, of course), and most importantly, all the content from the Companion book is now part of the core Sacrifice book. I've also added a couple of new things here and there: some new random tables, and the Tomb Robber starting occupation. All in all, I think this is the best iteration of the game, and I can't wait to share it with you guys. For the time being, this version will be only available via this Patreon.

This is the new sheet, with the changes applied. As you can see, really minor stuff!

So I think this is enough for this week, I'll keep you guys posted of my progress, as usual. Have a great week, thanks for reading!

Any idea when Sacrifice 1.1 will be available? :)

I'm just missing 6 illustrations, and ORB is SUPER fast, so I think it will be up this month!
