Week in Review: 10/19/25
Hello everyone! 👋 Decided to start doing these as public posts, and only when there are enough things to report lol.
Anyway, I'll start with Design Kit. I have posted a public update for that one that is current with the latest game version as well as allowing for virtually unlimited design and color configurations for both vehicles and placeables. To do that, I had to finally discontinue the old <thPlaceableDesign> and <thPlaceableColor> configuration keys, that were only left in for backwards compatibility to give modders the time to update to the newer version. In other words, I created two sets of configurations so both keys would work for a time. Now, when I say newer, it's been about 9 - 10 months now since I gave the head's up, so plenty of time lol.
That being said, Precision Farming Configurator is next to be updated (again as a public release). There will be some changes there as well, because PF itself has updated and it has some different things that required me to follow suit and do the same. Keep that in mind.
This is also why the delay of the Better Winch script. Again, the configuration has to change to stop the lag issues from happening. I will be updating that one soon here as well. Same thing applies. Vehicles with the old configuration will no longer work the same. I've just left the public one sit as is for that reason. In other words, the upcoming change should be known and prepared for by now.
Row Crop Ready will be getting a name change soon. Going with Row Crop System, just to differentiate it from old RCR which is not compatible with the new system. Using the old RCR planters will cause significant lag, and certain features will not work. Again, this is part of the reason I decided to take on the project in the first place. To fix and improve on the old xml based RCR system. Good news is, I have been testing the new version in multiplayer for the last few days and so far, so good. Thing is, there is a lot of little places to adjust to get the game itself and different implements to work with actual rows. Takes a long time to hunt down and figure those out.
Finally, there will be a few minor Patreon changes coming up. I'm going to use more of a generic "bronze", "silver", "gold" tier system with more clear details on what each tier gets. Basically, all tiers get access to the scripts, and the level of support goes up with each tier. No major changes, however. I just have to put a limit on the time I spend with the lower tiers, so I have enough time to eat and sleep in between figuring out and writing scripts and helping people lol.
I think this is long winded enough, so I'll leave it at that for now.
Have a good one!
