ALL MAXIS MATCH EYES completely overhauled and extended
...of course also with Fairy addons! 🧚
Posting this literally feels like a huge weight falling off like, my whole existence. I am serious. This complete project took me so much time to finish. A little earlier I've been counting all the eye package files I've been handling the recent days, and it's been a whopping 508 individual packages, spread over all my maxis match eye sets. Not even counting all of the texture files, just the data I was preparing!
Since the fairies pack dropped, and after I finished fixing all my tattoo category CC, I've been working consecutively these weeks almost nonstop on making my occult eyes work again + making new textures whenever I have leisure time. Last time I slept was two days ago. The recent patches totally scrambled all occult eyes up, which meant I had to recreate a majority of them from the ground on. Also btw, initially I started working on occult eye expansions + other changes that I wanted to do since forever, sometime around last year, never got to finish it because real life has been super stressful, and on top of that, thanks to the recent patches breaking so much stuff, most of my prior work has been a waste. Yay.
Anyway, it's here now, it's big and beautiful, and covers sooo many eyes and life states.

So, besides the whole "fixing and recreating everything from scratch" process I'm gonna list the main additions and changes:
I've made and added all occult eye variations for all of my maxis match eye sets, also for sets which were previously human-only (Oasis, Dazzling Light, Treasure, Waterdrop and Oxygen all got Fairy, Mermaid, Alien, Vampire, Werewolf, Ghost & Reaper Reward swatches)
They're super compatible with all life states, like the game intends to (regular humans having access to occult eyes, for example)
All files have a different, better sorting system now, previously I had them sorted the way of creation date, but now I prefer to group them by type and life states, so the new numbering makes way more sense. For example, the Oasis Eyes were N01, then some alien eyes N02 followed, afterwards Oasis Vampyr N03, which made the Dazzling Light Eyes to be the N04 eyes. I've reversed that, now all Oasis-relating eyes are N01, Dazzling Light is N02, and so on...
If you need the exact numbering they went from:
all Oasis are unified as N01 now // Dazzling Light = N04 -> N02 // Treasure = N05 -> N03 // Waterdrop = N06 -> N04 // Oxygen = N07 -> N05
Also for the N02 alien eyes that were sandwiched inbetween, I made some changes, they have the new name of Xara eyes. You can find them here.I've also slided many other fixes into all sets, but these changes are the most noteworthy.
That's more or less it, all basic rules apply to occult eyes (like for example, you needing the Get To Work pack if you want the alien replacement eye files to replace something, and facepaint versions working with basegame, stuff like that. In any case, I added ReadMe files to all zips for some more info.
I hope you enjoy these updates!!! I worked my butt off on these tbh, but IMO it was super worth it because I am in love with how clean everything is now, and how the occult addons look like. Hope you have fun playing with everything!!! ♡

thank you, but the eyes already remove the eyeshine on their own. they're completely matte. you don't need to use an eyeshine remover with these.

thank you! and there aren't, they were my first try with making maxis match eyes back then, so they had the shadowy sclera first, but when i later made the new occult versions i didn't add these bc i prefer the ones with the clearer sclera :)
Hello! I have decided to write what I was going to write on your EYES ultimate collection here since I didn't know if you would see this. So, with me being not super smart I didn't read they were updated and were put here but anyways I downloaded them I got vamp, werewolf etc. but they are seriously broken and kind of are messing with my game. I tried giving the new ones and put them there to see if they fix which they did sort of but now when I have deleted all the old mods and stuff they unfortunately don't go away. they are stuck in my game, and I have done everything from Repairing, Better expectations, Tray importer, uninstalling etc. and I'm not sure what I should do now I never write comments, but I feel as if I should because you're the creator and you may know what to do or give advice. I'm just worried it's going to be like this forever. And I just wanted you to know so maybe you could even fix the mod. Also, one last thing when I use tray importer it gives me this when I find the bugged eye "ClientFullBuild0.package" I honestly don't know what's normal, but it does not look right and is honestly very weird because sometimes it changes colors. That is all, I hope you can respond whenever but hopefully soon because I don't want this to be long term. Thank you!
first off, my eyes have NO PART with the issue that you're experiencing. whatever is bugging your game, there's no way that default eye replacements are ever going to cause those issues that you have described there. super sorry to hear your game is messed up this way though. genuinely, i am. i don't know what you claim is supposed to be "seriously broken" in your game. you mean occult eyes showing up for regular humans in CAS? that is part of the basegame now, in case you mean that. every sim has access to almost every eye color now. the "ClientFullBuild0.package" is NOT IN ANY WAY part of the eyes. it's a file directly from your game. random guess bc, i don't have access to your computer or game, but could it be that one of your gameplay affecting mods causes this file? as the client package thingy is more intertwined with the game data directly. again, this is just a guess. but it has nothing to do with the eyes. as i don't know what other cc or mods you have in your game, i can only recommend you to either remove or disable everything you have currently. the recent patch broke a LOT of gameplay mods, but not cosmetic stuff. if issues still persist, then something about your game data is broken (which again, my eyes were not able to cause in any way.) repair it again. if you repair your game without any mods inside most issues can be fixed.
Absolutely loving these eyes! For some reason the vampire default eyes are broken for me (they're the only ones). I've tried both Oasis and Treasure sets. If I check them in Sims4Studio, this is the error I get (pasted below if helpful?) thank you! and the eyes are not broken. do they work ingame? that's the main thing that matters. whatever happens in S4S is not relevant. weird pop ups there can happen because they're a default replacement. but i can assure you, the eyes work fine if they're fine in your game.
hey -- weird question & sorry to make you troubleshoot this, but i've been using this cc pack regularly for a while now and i've discovered that for some reason the eyes don't show up for a particular sim i've been playing with? that sim only has the maxis default eyes for some reason. i've swapped out for a bunch of different files to see if it makes a difference (default, non default, face paint) but no matter what the ccs won't appear for that specific sim...
hmm idk how to troubleshoot that, to be honest. it doesn't seem to be an issue with my cc, but your sim themself if the eyes appear on your other sims. you might have other broken CC or mods on him if it conflicts. maybe a preset? idk.
sorry if i missed this but are these default replacements or can i download them and still have access to other eyes
yeah they're actually all of that (replacements AND non replacements all over), best you look up the original posts or zip files (which are labelled very clearly inside), you have to pick and choose which ones you want. blindly throwing everything into your mods folder won't work (but that you shouldn't do with any cc anyways)
These are all so amazing! 😻 I apologize if this question comes off ignorant. So again, big apologies. Do the occult eyes that glow, are for every eye set category, or is there a certain set that glow? I just love the occult eyes glowing, so much.

yeah that's the thing, you seemingly downloaded them all blindly and put all of them into your game without checking. if you want only the oasis set for your sim defaults, you have to pick these files, if you want waterdrop replacements then choose only them. ta-dah, there you have matching sets.
are these defaults ?
this collection covers any eye version, so yes, defaults are among them.

thank you! it was a super exhausting and mentally taxing project tbh, i handled hundreds of textures, i don't have it in me anymore to add heterochromic versions, sorry about that :/ maybe one day in the future once i've recovered from this task and thinking about it doesn't cause me headaches anymore
Your cc is beautiful as always. I only noticed one issue. All the occult eyes are showing up no matter the occult made. Werewolves are showing not just werewolf eyes but mermaids, alien, etc. and the same for my spellcaster sim (all the other occult eyes also show up in cas)

My absolute favorite eyes to use for a very dear character turned Sim is in the Waterdrop area in the vampire category; thank you -so- much for updating these. These are literally the closest, most 'lore accurate' thing I could ever hope to find for her and I'm thankful you've shown it love <3 Thank you for -all- of your updates. thank you sooo much!! <3 tiring, indeed, it was just sooo many files T_T about your screen, SUPER simple solution you surely already tried, but have you checked your cables? my cat recently sat on those and while she didn't yank them out, it caused glitches and i had to stabilize them for the screen to work normally again haha

white glow is vague, for which eyesets do you mean? you mean a general glow effect or a white color in particular? i might add non-glowy sets versions in the future if thats what you mean!

I might just be an idiot, but after I downloaded your dazzling lights default replacements, they still show up as the maxis defaults after the first EBN patch to put all the occult eyes on human sims, but the wrench still shows up, and I don't know how to fix it
the wrench makes it sound like you have some other replacement in your mods folder, eyeshine remover by chance? those essentially work just like default eyes

that's one of the changes i've explained in the included readme file, basically the sclera of that one is a bit more shaded :)
