Month End Post: December 2025 Wrap-Up

Well, the moment has arrived. Let’s all wave a collective “goodbye” to 2025!

As the clock ticks down on the last few hours of this year, we hope you can look back with a full heart. Whether you accomplished something in school, at work, with friends, family, or yourself – we’re proud of you! 

For our team, December chugged right along, and we were able to check symbolic development boxes off left and right. Read on for our final 2025 monthly summary! 

Monthly Content Summary

The final note you’ll hear about the hoodie for a bit: Sales for the Our Life Ocean Hoodie were officially closed this month, after an extension to the 20th. Thanks to the unreal Our Life stans out there, 2,186 hoodies were sold! There is a non-zero chance that you’ll be able to recognize a fellow Sunset Bird resident out in the world, and I think that’s beautiful. 💕

We also brought on TWO new team members this month! They are both joining our art team, specializing in background graphics: Big shoutout to Tiana (Botai) Wen (@_taiart0229) and Ze from Square Weasel Studio. Welcome, welcome, welcome! 

I will note that the second half of this month was a bit slower due to the holiday season. Thanks for your grace on this – we’ve been enjoying a welcomed break around friends and family. 

Development Progress

GB continued to make progress on the script for the 9th Step 2 Moment and its Fall Ended section. They weren’t fully wrapped up, but a significant amount was accomplished. 

There were two new Patreon-only betas this month! The first included several new features:

• The ability to load save files you made in the public demo

• A new tutorial

• Several minor fixes

• Notably: The option to see which song is currently playing in each scene! 

The second was particularly large and included roughly 30K new words. New Step 2 scenes were added: 

• The start of the linked Moments

• Part 1 of PJ Day – one of the two high school-era linked Moments 

And finally, background and asset creation continued beautifully, with several new pieces completed for the high school (and its adorable logo, seen below).
