Status update Episode 12
Happy Friday!
Time for another week with a list of different things I worked on.
I continued playing and working on the same main girl branch as last week. I had to replay it multiple times to see different variations, and I'm loving how it came out. I get goosebumps every time I play certain scenes in the episode. So, I'm pretty sure I hit the mark. I've been tweaking things to ensure the variables are correct, and I believe I'm getting close to finishing most of the hard work on this branch. I have one more playthrough with a different set of variables I want to test before I can move on to another branch.
While playing, I wrote two new scenes I wanted for the episode and planned another scene I'll likely write next week.
I took a day to write and add over 200 bios entries for the episode. You know, the comments that are added in your Bios app for the characters you've had interactions with. The few bios that remain to be written are located in unfinished areas of the episode.
I also wrote and added all new entries to the Sexual History section of the Stats app.
While working on the phone, I ensured it was available and disabled at the right spots. A detail that most players won't care about until it's plainly wrong, and you accidentally access the phone, let's say, during a mini-game.
I made sure that fast travel works when applicable. Personally, I never use it when playing, but I know many of you like it.
I slightly updated the end-of-episode report as a result of the variation I played.
I continued working on the final small free roam event and created art for its scenes. It needs some more branch-specific and phone content, but the canon content is done.
I added more SFX to another section of the episode that needed some extra attention. So far, I've added 48 new sound effects to the episode.
Other than that, one thing I worked on plenty was touching up dialogue. I played the episode slowly and improved the dialogue in various ways. One way is to scan the dialogue for commonly used words and words I tend to overuse. Then I parse the dialogue and improve upon it. When I write, it often works that way. For me, it's better to just write any kind of dialogue to get scenes going and then improve on it later.
In terms of dialogue, episode 12 is now roughly the same size as episode 11. There are still scenes left to write for the remaining branches, meaning it will end up bigger - as expected.
The animation queue is back down in the double digits; 97 animations are waiting to render. And I have 2-3 more lewd scenes to create on top of that.
The render speed is good and should continue to improve over time. In the late stages of development, the animation queue is always the bottleneck, but I will work on all other areas while the queue continues to deplete. In some cases, beta testing even started before all animations were completed. But we're not there yet.

Amazing work on the progress Doc you always work so hard on the game during the week so the weekends are always well deserved. honestly i have to mention this again the fact that you play through each branch multiple times just shows how much you care about your game and your community which is one of the reason i subscribed in the first place not gonna go into the story thats a WHOLE other level. The FACT that you Doc get goosebumps from certain scenes from a story you make yourself, man i dont even wanna know how its gonna make the rest of us feel when you release episode 12 of this masterpiece and we play through it. With how much passion and work you put into this i can say for certainty that i will keep subscribing to your patreon so you can keep doing this as your fulltime job and do it with passion as always, cuz from season 1-3 this game has just gotten better and better with each episode you have released and you deserve each sub you have on your patreon no matter if people pay 1$ or if they pay 100$ just the fact that they wanna support this journey of yours and some of the best written stories and characters. i cant wait to see what you have planned for season 4 when that times comes. Thanks for the update Doc! It's exhilarating to see all this progress that you've made. It seems you've got more polishing done this week on top of some more core content and that the episode is already shaping into its final form. I've been increasingly restless the last few weeks and found myself being in a hurry to reach Friday and read your weekly status update. I'm feeling the release hype very strongly these days although it might only happen in a few months. If you're moved so much by your own work, it sure will mess with our feelings even more when we finally get to play the episode! I wonder if those are either wholesome scenes or very painful ones since the last episode hinted to some quite difficult stuff incoming soon. I'm always amazed on how you added so many little and large variations in your narrative and how you keep track of everything episode after episode. I don't think I've ever seen that in another game before. Keep the good work coming and I wish you a nice weekend and an amazing next week!
I feel you on this one philippe with being restless first thing i do friday evening is go to Doc's patreon and check what he has been working on and as always with Doc he works so hard with polishing the game and story. Heck the man plays through each branch multiple times and adds in stuff if he feels like something is missing. As i mentioned aswell we gonna get hit with them feels this episode especially if the man himself got goosebumps from some of the scenes and im definitley gonna get a feeling of emptiness once im done with episode 12 just staring at my screen saying to myself "well WTF am i supposed to play now, aint no way something can replace this". there aint no work out there like Doc's.
I know it's not much but I'm happy to chip in my $2.50 per month. Sure I can complain about the insane lengths between episodes, but your a 1 man team putting out insanely high quality, LONGGG episodes. Is it crazy that I started playing this game at 15, and I may have a family by the time it's complete? Yes, but I'll keep tagging along for the journey. 😂
Same here, I don't mind paying the $1 every month to get these updates and I found myself not minding it after I first finished episode 8 I think it was back in 2020 when I first discovered this game on Steam. Since then I've been excited to play each episode since then but didn't know who DPC was or that he made this Patreon to update us on the development. Crazy to think that by the time he's finished with the story, I'm going to be like 40 and my daughter would have finished High School by then. 😂😂

I´m very hyped for the final of S3. I love the storytelling, the background stories of many of the characters and the deep messages. The lewd scenes are like a cherry on top in the end
Of course I like fast travel. I always get completely lost around Derek's Bar otherwise

At this point the variable juggling has to be one of the hardest jobs. Any slight variations over 12 episodes could ruin s playthrough 😵😵

i'd rather get lost than use the fast travel
Although I also navigate manually a lot, I love the fast travel as well. When you know where you want to go and it's at the other end of the mansion, it saves a lot of time to just teleport there and be done with it. I tend to navigate manually when I'm close to the destination or doing a free roam event for the first time and then use the fast travel on my later playthroughs. I tend to replay this game a lot (1347 hours on Steam :O )
Oh Shit, DPC getting goosebumps while playing probably means it will absolutely ruin me! Keep up the great work Doc, very excited for whatever you cook up!
