Path traced GIobal Illumination coming to ReShade!
As all patreons (patrons, patreons..?) already know from my Discord, I'm working hard on a ray traced Global Illumination method for ReShade.
This means you can have GI as drop-in in every game you want, with a few clicks. Work on such a feature started over a year ago, I posted some screenshots on the ReShade forums but eventually discarded it, due to other projects having more priority.
Since NVIDIA kicked off mainstream interest in ray tracing, I figured this is the right moment to revive that project and start making Ray Tracing accessible for everyone, which is what ReShade is all about. Alpha supporters are already testing (and apparently enjoying) the new feature! I hope to make it beta-worthy soon and also release it to the general public.
How does this relate to Minecraft Path Tracing shaders? Well, besides the path tracing part, not at all. Minecraft SEUS PTGI shaders are inherently tied to the voxel data of Minecraft, while also having data available from outside the screen, my implementation uses neither voxels nor does it access or store data outside the screen. Even though these restrictions are pretty tight, the feature itself is coming along nicely!
Major constraint as this point is performance (ray tracing, duh) - the way ray/path tracing works cannot be cut short in any way so I have to find a solution that requires as few rays as possible while not being noisy and also temporally stable.
Global Illumination is the main focus at the moment, my shader collection qUINT already has a screen-space reflection shader so there's no reason to reinvent the wheel here.
Sorry for not posting very often here, I'm in touch with the general public mostly via ReShade forums and all patreons are on my Discord anyways, so go figure.

I'm not going to lie. This is a pretty atrocious format to provide downloads. I'm getting a horrible loop of 'Go to Patreon for DL -> Go to the Discord for DL -> Go to the wiki for DL -> Go to the Patreon for DL -> Go to the Discord for DL -> Go to the wiki for DL -> Go to the Patreon for DL -> Go to the Discord for DL -> Go to the wiki for DL -> Go to the Patreon for DL -> Go to the Discord for DL -> Go to the wiki for DL -> Go to the Patreon for DL. Etc etc. I don't know if you changed the download locations several times over time. I'm generally a power user, 28, been doing this stuff since I was 10, and even I'm having trouble. Now, I'm not going to stay here begging for the download link, I'll find it out eventually. Just know, this is by far the worst format I've ever seen. ...I appreciate the work put in this, though.
100% Agreed, I been doing this since around 13, 21 now and this is freaking bugging me.
Hola como hago para descargar ?
Desde el discord lo bajas
Hello, can you please give me a link to Prototye ray tracing reshade?

is it possible for me to pay a one time fee to be able to access this mod (sorry I'm new to Patreon)
I would like to but if I enabled that, Patreon would charge you for every Patron-only post.
I've paid $20, but I can't find the download link
where do i download
Your tier comes with discord rewards, use them to join my server and there you'll find the files.
where i can download the Skyrim Reshade?? i am new to this site i can't find your reshade for Skyrim SE please give me link i donated. thanks
Hi. While this looks amazing, is there some sort of easy way just to get Screen Space Reflections working easily on games like Mass Effect 2? That's all I really want out of life until Ray Tracing becomes more viable. PS: I know of qUINT, but it's difficult to use/doesn't work.
I'm sure this can look awesome on No Man's Sky, I'd love to see screenshots
@BsoD Gaming: that's the point, you get the invite automatically when you donated. If I posted it publicly anywhere, web crawlers would find it and spammers would be abundant.
Id love to see a way to pay as a once off for the current version. Every modder wants a patreon sub and it's just too much to deal with
I really wanted to try this out today, for some reason my credit card was denied. Sorry.
HI, I'd love to try out this new feature and support you but 20$ is a bit too much for me. When will it become beta available?
As soon as possible. I can't put an exact time frame on when that will be happening since I have a lot of things to try out and improve performance before it becomes more than a screen archer gimmick.
So, is this in screen space? You say that you can't access or store any data outside the screen, so it just sounds like it's an ordinary path tracer operating within the confines of screen space data. If it is, I'm sorry but, what's really the point of this? Sure, get some natural lighting, but it's all in screen space. Look away, or turn the camera even just slightly, everything disappears because the path tracer doesn't have data for what's off screen.
It's screen space because of limitations with reshade, and screen space is the easiest brute force method of adding RT. If you want real RT in your games, might wanna contact the developer.
Hey is the rt feature only on the 20$ version or also on the 5$ one? Cause im thinking of getting it since it looks really interesting.
It's in the $20 tier for now due to it being alpha.
