115 - Techno Template - 138 BPM

In this track, I used a polymetric mid bass pattern. Because the pattern shifts against the rest of the track, it creates occasional conflicts with the other low-end elements.

Instead of creating individual automation throughout the entire track to resolve these conflicts, I created a dedicated ducking group containing all bass layers except the mid bass.

I then used sidechain compression triggered by the mid bass. This creates a consistent amount of space for the polymetric pattern, allowing it to move freely without constantly clashing with the rest of the low end.

There is also a blip synth in the track. On its own, this sound isn't particularly interesting - it becomes useful when it interacts with and complements the groove.

My general approach is to build the groove first and only then introduce synths and other sounds around it. This helps every additional element serve the groove rather than trying to build the groove around the sounds.

For the vocal, I used a resampled granular vocal. I can't include the original sample in the project, so only the resampled version is included.
