Hi guys. I’m lying in bed with a headache, but since I can’t sleep anyway, I’ll tell you how my week went.
Spoiler: it tried hard not to fall behind the previous one, and honestly, it’s almost funny how much it feels like a series 🫠
Let’s start with the apartment.
My landlady dug in her heels as if I was trying to take not the deposit, but her family jewels.
A peaceful parting? Right now, that option isn’t even on the table.
Her argument: I found a new place “too quickly,” and now I’m “leaving” her without tenants and money for a couple of months. I even offered to find someone to cover that period, and she still said no.
Honestly, I didn’t expect the apartment to be found so fast either. The market is such that searching early was a logical move.
I don’t understand why we can’t part on good terms.
For three years I’ve been a good tenant: always paid on time, kept the place clean, did a kitchen renovation myself, painted walls, refreshed some furniture, simply because I wanted it to feel good for everyone.
But sometimes moments like this reveal people’s true character; masks come off faster than an Instagram filter.
Of course, all of this upsets me. It’s like another headache appeared on my to-do list.
The landlady wants me to pay rent until March 31, 2026 (until the end of the lease) even if I’ll already be living in a new place.
The situation is really two-sided: she didn’t specify exact terms, and I took her words literally, if she’s selling the apartment, then it’s time to find another one.
We both took steps that hurt each other. I genuinely believe responsibility should be shared.
Adults seek compromises. I hope she remembers she’s an adult too.
For now, she’s ignoring my messages, which isn’t exactly the best tactic, but I keep packing.
On December 1, I’m moving in the contract is signed, the deposit is paid, and there’s simply no way back.
At the moment I’m not working in delivery: I’m packing, filling the holes in the walls from my paintings, cleaning cabinets and furniture. Today I went to the office to cancel the internet contract and I’m buying boxes, that state when there’s chaos all around, yet inside, somehow, order emerges.
On Saturday, I finally plan to take a breath. It’s my friend’s birthday, and we decided to make something with our hands, we settled on lamps. 🫣
Kind of unexpected, but it’s hard to impress me these days 🫠
I’ve already designed my own lamp, so on Friday I’m going to the forest to collect branches.
Maybe this lamp will become the first resident of my new apartment.
Tomorrow I also have a consultation with the doctor about my jaw. Braces will need to go in very soon.
There was a nice moment today too.
A friend called, someone I see very rarely because we live in different countries and each has their own rhythm. But you know, there are people with whom time doesn’t exist: you can go months without talking, then call, and it’s just as easy and warm? Do you have someone like that? Who did you think of just now?
Anyway, I briefly told him about my “fun” 2025, and he said:
“I can’t even feel sorry for you because I know you’ll handle all of this. You always have, so I don’t even doubt it.”
And those words landed right where doubt sometimes likes to settle.
I’ve really learned a lot over the past years. Sometimes I forget that. And then I look back and I realize: I’m still standing, and I’m even moving forward.
