My first day working in delivery.
I found a car for rent. Signed a mountain of papers, gave away my last bit of money, and told myself: “Well, it’s do or die now.”
My new partner in crime a first-generation Toyota Yaris. Tiny, rattly, and just as tired of life as I am. A perfect match. 😁
Today, I decided to start. I was terrified, I’d never done delivery before.
The first order went smoothly, I felt like a pro a top-tier predator in the food delivery jungle.
Then came the second one… and it was heavy. Like, “the-bags-have-a-personal-grudge-against-me” heavy. But I managed to deliver it anyway, proudly, as if I’d just saved the world.
Then, in a burst of confidence, I grabbed three orders at once.
Because what could possibly go wrong, right?
Spoiler: everything.
The first customer gave me the wrong address. I was driving in circles, sweating, stuck in traffic, searching for parking, and my GPS kept repeating “You have arrived at your destination”… somewhere in another dimension, apparently.
While I was trying to deliver that cursed order, the other two were waiting in my bag, and one customer started rage-texting me: “Where are you?! Why so long?! Totally unprofessional!!!”
When I finally got there, he yelled at me and slammed the door.
Ah yes, drama the spice of life.
I know it wasn’t really anyone’s fault, just bad luck. But damn, it stung. Maybe it’s just the stress… or maybe I should’ve become a florist.
So my first working day ended exactly as you can see in the video: me driving home, a bit teary but still rolling - literally.
Final result: 26 bucks and a small breakdown. 😁
Tomorrow, I’ll try again.
