A Look Ahead at Worlds Beyond Number

Want to x Infinity GMGM; as noted in another comment there's a real dearth of this level of GM talk and it's really valuable. I'd be geeked for some kind of "anatomy of a session" or directors commentary? that lets us see (as Lou describes in recent GMGM) the way live goes off script from planned and how prep and improv get us the incredible result we see; I feel like asking to see prep artifacts (notes, mood boards, NPC stat blocks, etc) is weirdly intimate but I'm fascinated by the work behind the work and would love to hear & see how pro level folks do this. Process and its materiality are things I nerd out about generally; I'm sure I'm not alone? At the Well, for sure. It's really great at showing all the ways creators fill their cup/are informed and shaped by others; we're all part of a long, long running conversation and getting to hear what inspires my favorite creators 1) gives me a great list of things to check out (surely this could be a PDF? The WBN extended canon of influence?) and also prompts me to think newly about my own influences! 🙏❤️ Love and appreciate the team!

I’d love some sort of What If episode where the cast imagines what would happen if their characters were dropped into other worlds / stories! E.g., how would Ame, Suvi, and Eursolon fare if they found themselves in the Hint! manor, or on board the Icaron, or like … in Lord of the Rings or something :)

Is there a way to let the Worlds Beyond Number team know that Skybound, the Worlds Beyond Number: The Official Graphic Novel Kickstarter creator, is having serious problems? Backetkit surveys were theoretically sent out August 11th, but according to multiple posts there are many backers who still haven't received the survey email, and the survey closes (theoretically) September 23rd. According to the posts, Skybound has not responded to requests for information in posts or emails. Further, the project hasn't appeared in my Backerkit account, which I assume is the case with other backers, even though I thought that I had filled out the survey. The lack of communication overall, and the lack of responses to questions specifically, is extremely concerning, especially when there are clearly issues with an essential step in the project, namely filling out the pledge survey. I apologize for posting this here, but I have found no other way to express my concerns to the Worlds Beyond Number team. If they knew what was happening, I think they would be appalled.

At the well, good morning game masters and things like those. I have so much access to these wonderful people being funny on drop out and other areas. But the slightly more serious stuff where they reflect on stories and story telling feel like insights I have not heard or seen in other spaces.

At the Well is the best liminal project of this Patreon, and it feels like they are fairly low effort compared to how enjoyable they are.(positive) For the GM’s in the fanbase like myself, hearing all the different inspirations helps give point of reference for our own stories.

I very much enjoy the At the Well episodes.

I would love an even very loose At The Well to continue. Like I love hearing about everyone’s creative influences and media they enjoy, and I would like it even if it was just discussing their latest interests they’ve gotten into. But what’s the best is the branching off topics and discussing things with each other.

Love the calendar thing! My favourites are probably At The Well (which inspired me to do my own version of it, just for myself. I will probably just write down my thoughts but overall it's a very inspiring format) and Good Morning, Game Masters (how did you guess that I am a game master?). Having such excellent GM's in one group I want to take in all the knowledge you have for me haha. I would love to hear fantasy edition of At The Well from every member + I don't think we finished the sci-fi version with everybody (excuse my poor memory). But honestly I love anything you guys put out cause you are a very entertaining bunch and you have deep insights into different topics so I could listen to you talk about anyting.

For me my favourite Bonus Content on the fireside is At the Well/ GMGMs (though we already have that in schedule) but the Bag it or Tag it's from the Fireside Chats were some of the hardest I've ever Laughed so would love to see more!

I straight up think that every fireside chat needs to have one game of bag it or tag it. Also, Horner Corner feels like such a special occasion kind of thing - we definitely need more of it, but we can’t overdo it imo 😌

Cannot wait for the next episode of World Turner. At the Well is really excellent, it’s so interesting to hear not only what has been an inspiration, but why. What things you take away from certain stories and why it had more impact that others. More GM discussion are always great, how to prepare for branching scenarios, and such, and I would be curious about a similar thing from a player perspective. Some amount comes up in firesides, but it would be interesting to know how each player approaches playing, whether some people are more backstory focused or find the character through play. If people prefer to hand things over to the GM to decide, or work through it together. How to deal with your dice not being on your side (we have had some of this before, Aabria being great at using failure to inform decisions). That sort of thing, and honestly anything else that comes up, I’m equally looking to be a better player and GM.

Also, I just want to add that while I absolutely love the Beardsley Chaos Energy on D20, playing Yaxsel with a more "realistic" take has been an eye opener and has given me an even more deep appreciation of their skills as a performer.

As much GMGM as can possibly be recorded from now until the heat death of the universe, that’s how much GMGM I want.

I'd love more cast games, like Bag it or Tag It, Class Action, or some kinda bracket/draft game of everyone's ideal cast in a Kaiju movie.

At The Well is by far my favorite Fireside feature besides the regular Talk back episodes. Just hearing you all discuss a formative piece of media is so interesting. Almost always it is something I have also enjoyed, and seeing it from your perspectives, and what your take away from it is just fascinating. After that would be Good Morning Game Master. Discussion on how and why you build the worlds, choices, and react to character choices is compelling listening. Horner Corner shouldn't be left out of the conversation either. I'm not sure how much is too much, but I'm here for it. There's certainly a fascination with fantastical worlds and the intersection of desire. The dynamic that you have where Aabria and Erica are educating Brennan and Lou (somewhat/mostly unwillingly) is fun, but I would like to see those two engage more with the material as well. Surely something in the dark corners has fascinated them at least a little. Bag It or Tag It is fun, but in small doses please. I feel like it gets repetitive fairly quickly. Maybe if the dating contestants were characters from some media property it might be more compelling. I don't have any real connection to the randomly generated ones. They could even be side characters from WBN campaigns if you have some desire to avoid copyright issues.

i love At the Well! Some of my favorite conversations with friends (often the conversations that make us friends) are discussing favorite movies, comics, stories, games, songs, etc., the art and entertainment that shaped us. At the Well feels like that! Though I'd also love some follow ups where folks who haven't seen/read/played/listened to something someone else mentioned go expose themselves to it and then come back for further discussion, but that's just my geeky completionist brain, the one that yells "I have to show you this RIGHT NOW!" when I find out someone I love hasn't seen something I love. So your mileage may vary! Calendars are very welcome as well, thank you for that!

As a forever GM and someone who listens to WBN during my morning commute I have a real soft spot in my heart for Good Morning Game Masters and am thrilled to see another one of those coming up with THE LOU WILSON!
