Absolutely loved the episode, amazing play from everyone, the Cullen / Abigail conversation at the pier made me feel like I was going to throw up and die, great work all around.

I am usually VERY weak in front of cringy situations but the Abigail/Cullen arguments were so realistic and well acted that it felt super satisfying to me more than anything else haha

Feeling truly grateful to be able to see Lou DMing again. The world felt so lived in, and I was so completely invested that, even in a few episodes, and knowing what was coming, I still felt like the world fell from under me when all hell broke loose! I totally felt this distinct catastrophic, chaotic, stomach sinking, larger than life feeling that we get with really great kaiju or natural disaster movies. 10/10 would recommend Lou getting serious

Idk why I did this to myself, but I listened to this on a plane and the ending was perfectly timed with my landing. Surroundsound 4D experience 😭

This improvised dialog is so much better written than any dialog I have ever had to endure in any kaiju movie or show. It's like that dialog is aimed directly at neurotypicals and the good shit is reserved for us.

HOLY FUCKIN SHIT LOU I gotta say, I'm absolutely LOVING the stuff you GM; the way you describe things, the way you play characters, your incredible skill with controlling pacing, momentum and tension in scenes, and the way you slowly develop and reveal things in your worlds by seamlessly and naturally sprinkling in just little bits of new information and details inside your descriptions and dialogue--like the *characters* (including the other players in a lot of cases too though) know what they're talking about even though the audience doesn't yet (a very clear example is the Bloom and the Yearkeeper in this exact campagin!) ..it's so good, keeps me right on the edge of my seat, and makes the whole journey of discovery so exciting and enjoyable!! I would also LOVE to see you GM on Dimension 20 sometime too if that's ever something you'd like to try!!! ^_^ Absolutely incredibly done y'all, so excited to hear more!!! much love

Those last few minutes were beauty and the sudden cut back to jazz for the credits killed me

Lou's ability to make scene description so cinematic is absolutely amazing. Everyone hating on Abagail, and my 47 year old ass is like "Man, it's sad when one person suddenly realizes they are both different from who they used to be and doesn't know how to end it without a massive heap of pain all around."

Hey so the ending was stressing me out so much, Lou's cadence and speeding up and talking at the speed my brain moves was freaking me out, this is such a fucking good STORY. Trying to figure out if this falls into horror? Or like disaster horror? Eldritch I guess? Like I knew people were gonna die but I think the juxtaposition of "yay we got to the party" and then immediately "everyone at this party has died of kaiju", I mean fuck. Also the arguments are so well done, and the wingmen/friends are trying for their lives over here to help out. When you're friends with both people in the relationship it's hard, but I have noticed that Yax and Harls are not talking to Abigail, only Cullen. I wonder ...

I’m so in love with this world, this might be the best thing I’ve ever listened to

The real horror of this series is going to be the emotional hangover when Cullen has to face the consequences of everything he did while spiraling out.

These first two episodes have been a masterclass in making an audience care about a setting and characters. You almost forget you're in a kaiju story until Lou gets to those last five minutes of the episode where the Monster reminds you it's there. The sound design of the opening kaiju attack on the city had me holding my breath even after a third and fourth listen. ❤️‍🔥🤌

Am I the only one that somehow forgot there was gonna be a kaiju? Cuz I did. I 100 percent did

There is a very sweet, deeply sincere, little wisp of naivety i keep tucked away inside the safest, coziest corner of my heart that listened to this episode and genuinely thought, "Oh, they're having soo much fun; maybe they'll just forget this whole Kaiju business and just bro it out for ten episodes" -- then 'it' arrived. Remarkable work all around!

Whew… I dunno, everyone is so mad at Abigail, but I’m 44 min in and I kinda feel for her. Any complaints about her indirectness has to be leveled at Cullen too- and he’s acting out a LOT more! He is a reminder of how being anxious attached can lead you to be SO clingy and controlling in your panic that you create the situation you’re trying to avoid. Very well acted by Brennan.

The sound editing plus what was happening at the end of this episode was so unbelievably good, I had chills!

I don't think I've ever hated an NPC more in my life than Abigail. Toby is in a solid 2nd place tho

It has been such a joy getting to know these characters over three episodes and the whole time just waiting for the other shoe to drop, and it was SO rewarding. Lou's absolutely killing it. He and everyone has created such a lived in world. And having all those classic moments, the readings increasing when nobody is looking, the gathering at the water when it was still safe, and then the absolutely gorgeous descriptions of the horrors crashing into them, and the moments of quiet in it, the beat with Tev before he dies. CHEFS FUCKING KISS. Love love love love, this mix of really making a unique and loving world and then the homages to all the classic kaiju movie moments is being executed so so perfectly. I'm in absolute love with this campaign.

Lou's absolute cosmic assertion that The Third Friend shall under no circumstances be named or given defining characteristics is so funny.
