Enjoy!

Hearing the discussion about Lou’s exploration of family obligation in multiple characters he’s played (I’d include Kingston Brown in that!) makes me want to know even more about what he’s exploring with Eursulon in WWW. 🥰 Self-determination perhaps; growing up, coming into one’s own, discovering your “purpose” or what’s meaningful to you in life. Either way, love it 😊 Thanks for a great discussion guys

BRB, going back to listen to XL—ZL growth with old mate Gustav Holst's Thaxted hymn that's in "Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity" (music from Sleepytime episode of Bluey)

...i take it back, I think Venus the Bringer of Peace does XL—ZL more justice, at least as we see him/ know him now (I.e. know that I am ready to turn on a DIME about this guy and slot him in with Mars.) Venus for Eursalon. Jupiter for Suvi. Mars for the Witch Coven and the Five Families. Mercury for Ame and Fox. May not be everyone's opinion, but I say Saturn for Zee. And absolutely Uranus the Magician for Ayasa... the chaos hottie. ... ALSO NEPTUNE THE MYSTIC REMINDS ME OF THE FIRST EPISODE OF CAMPAIGN ONE AT THE TAVERN!?

Hey Brennan (and and anyone else who has or works with kids or is otherwise interested in children’s media. Lol) here is a growth mindset I wrote and recorded with my nieces and nephews for my elementary students! https://open.spotify.com/track/5kcjIUkZwKdrf4x5iztoVf?si=aG2OPoibQi-5-B5foWLRDA&utm_source=copy-link

Popping in to say I received my Icaron merch and it is lovely! The pins are always such high quality and that bigass t I ordered is going to continue to be my favorite sleep shirt for years. Thanks, merch team!

Strong Female Protagonist mention! Suc a great welcomic. If y'all haven't read it yet, go read it, it's on archive.org. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, but it's *so* good.

Held it down. Respeccct!

Shout-out to all my fellow "Strong Female Protagonist" backers from back in the day! It took me an embarrassing amount of time to connect that the author of STP was in fact the same guy that GMs Dimension 20. Clearly I've been a huge fan of Brennan Lee Mulligan's storytelling for quite some time and I didn't even realize it, haha.

My kid’s toddler tv years predate Bluey or Ms Rachel, but Yo Gabba Gabba was pretty great and my personal favorite was Kipper the Dog (timeless British classic, unbelievable more calming than the standard high-octane high-volume and overly wordy vibe of most modern kids shows). Damn, now that I think of it, I’d still be down to watch some Kipper if I need to slow down and chill with some playful musings about friendship and creativity.

We had Blue Clues. Which I adored. That said, Teletubbies and the Barney the Dinosaur sucked.

Also, Lou, I do play my kids the podcast…but not this world 😂 🎶 sandy dildo vodka bath🎶 is just not quite on the same level as 🎵hop little bunnies 🐰 🎵

Brennan: “because sometimes you watch stuff and you're like, this is only for baby and it's on in the living room and I'm being subjected to it.” OMG TOO REAL!!! 😭 But also BRENNAN HOW DARE YOU USE MS. RACHEL AS AN EXAMPLE OF THIS!!!!! How dare you disparage my co-parent! the amount of times I use Ms. Rachel-isms and find myself singing “hop little bunnies” is too much…and my kiddo is out of the Ms. Rachel stage 🫣

Bluey is the bomb, we also shared classic Mr Rogers with our kiddo, which is INCREDIBLE except for some gender stuff. Mr Rogers handles things like divorce and processing all kinds of emotions and relationships. Also: fucking Numberblocks is brilliant and had my kiddo doing multiplication at age 4- it’s subtle, but they do shit with color and who is voicing which numbers to build patterns and show relationships.

Yes!!! Also “Out of the Box” and “Bear in the Big Blue House” are such good shows! Slower, not cartoons, deal with some great themes, but also include classic stories/fairy tales, have art making and music, and start/end the same way each episode, giving kids a clear outline of an episode and not getting sucked into the doom scrolling-ish behavior of episode after episode

"The risk of what we could lose is greater than what we could gain." Brennan derived conservatism from first principles.

May it be known that I asked the Bluey question like, immediately after seeing Erika Ishii’s tiktok of them seeing Lou blast Bluey on that recent episode of game changer, and I can’t believe they weren’t here for this conversation. That being said, fantastic answer, and Minus M is the sun now, thank you. Congrats on the kickstarter campaign! I can’t wait to get my own copy of the children’s Adventure, I’m SO happy to see this podcast come to a new medium.
