The Massacre was nuts! Sublime sound design, Aabria absolutely popping off with the narration... Already a high watermark, not only on this series, but among WBN all-timers.

The episodes closing song felt like an amalgamation of a modern score to the Neverending Story and a extro from an episode of the tv series Halt and Catch Fire. Loved it ❤️ XL-ZLs grappling with diasporic complexities, the truth in the knowledge that integration politics requires sacrifices long after the sacrifices made that set these chain of events into motion that eventually brought him into the world, and the idea that even when conquered the chains of would be masters are never tight enough for their comfort because your existence is a reminder of their hatred, worry, and fear. I love how this story dovetails with Z's story about being great in the name of someone in a history whose lineage likely lead to the downfall and destruction of the names and greatness of others. That the worry to live up to your identity which grows beyond your existence making it a pale echo of XL-ZLs people's attempt to reclaim what was bargained away when their unity, their lineage, was lost and turned into sand from silicon and whose grains of sand set out as individuals carrying that same seed of hope of reunification, turning grains into pebbles into mighty fortifications on the shores of time until they are as one again. And then Chi's revolution, resisting those that would control even what little freedom a park would give because any freedom is more than physical space, its also the concept of freedom. it's the start of something, a seed that grows within, that turns into lees when enough people gather to shelter and reflect and create from the fruits of those seeds carried for so long. All together they are those that have taken, those that have lost, and those that have reclaimed their freedom - each part of a cosmic cycle running at different points in time on a wheel that spins until all have conquered their fears, embraced their individual beautiful truths and learned to listen to the universe asking "What am I" through the eyes of those that would observe it and ask of it the same "Who am I". A rhythm of give and take tapped in staccato into the fabric of the universe itself Each a part to play, each a Dharma to overcome, until the rules or even the Dharma is meaningless and all reach a state beyond the cycle to create new meanings together. Such a beautiful concept where each player plays their part to tell that cyclic story. Thank you for being who you are and bringing this and other stories to us!

"I hope I can be good enough to get it back." Somehow held it together until this line. Right in the feels. Damn, hurts so good.

This gave me so many feelings. I think I stopped breathing briefly to listen more deeply several times. I knew I was excited for long form Aabria DMing but daaaaammmmmnnnnnnn. Also Erika's acting... And Brennan giving me existential crises... And Lou grounding us.
