One in a Million
It's Shirley Hemphill's 1980 Rags-to-Riches sitcom, "One In a Million!"
I have to apologize for two things: (1) The fact this is coming on the Tuesday before it's scheduled to hit YouTube instead of a full week in advance. This one took extra work and I had real life intrusions. Plus something else you'll be hearing about soon.
Also, I need to apologize for the typo that I didn't catch until this version was uploaded. You see, how this works is that Patreon users get what I normally consider to be my best project, before I have to run the gauntlet of copyright at YouTube and decide what hills I want to die on. So the YouTube version tends to be cut to ribbons before it airs. I corrected the typo in the final version, which was not as easy as it sounds.
More good stuff coming your way soon!

Pab: How would Norman Lear spin-off Shirley's character in Good Times? Would she be on parole and then has to do it in an unlikely place-say the Donahue show?
Her character on Good Times wasn't Shirley.
This show was way ahead of its time.
Shirley deserved so much better. She was a truly underrated talent.
