I thought she was Emmett. At least she looks she. Human-style speech balloons and no visible neck seam - I'm thinkin' real human female. Hair color is a close match for Smythe and she's trying hard to avoid detection. Is she Smythe's little sister who stowed away on Boaty? Boaty would have detected her presence, but he could keep her secret safe, especially since it looks like his sympathies run toward hijinks.
On a second viewing I'm concerned she might be hiding from Rover

Okay, between the title of this strip and the gelatinous makeup of several of the locals, I'm getting a BAD VIBE HERE.
I have tried gelatinous makeup, and while it looks rather ghastly it’s at least fairly easy to wash off at the end of the day
I sense a possible romantic rival for Claire with eighth-grader syndrome despite being an adult researcher xD
