Does anyone else feel like this storyline is an expression of Jeph’s own ambivalence about being so mainstream these days?

Where did this Sven is a mooch thing come from?
<i>Way</i> back at the end of September, "Sven is not a mooch" was <i>actually</i> the footer text on strip #4101. Then about six weeks ago, #4128 ended up with the same top and bottom text (including being misnumbered as 4101). Then three weeks ago, Jeph accidentally forgot to change the footer text for #4145. With it showing up on today's strip, it's officially a running gag.

Sven is actually kinda rich. He could probably pay for the boat in cash. If he went in on the boat with them, Steve and Marten would probably <i>feel</i> like mooches, even if they all went in evenly.

Get married the way that makes YOU happy, and if that is a confectionery wedding dress that has more layers to it than Trump's toupe makes you happy, WEAR THAT DRESS. Be happy with the next phase of your life.
