Progress report: Back to the routine
Hi everyone,
I'm taking a little time to write this progress report, which will be a bit more personal than the one on Steam. But I also encourage you to check out the Steam news post for more marketing-focused information about the game, especially regarding the bundle and the festival.
Things are getting back to normal, slowly but surely. My routine is settling back in, and that's a good thing. I'm getting back to a normal work pace, without any major health problems. I still get a few migraines here and there. For example, today I have a mild sinus infection because of all the pollen in the air, but nothing serious.
My wife, my son, and I also took a short three-day trip to England as part of a town twinning program, and it was really wonderful. I love that country and the people who live there. It feels so much more laid-back than France, and so much less aggressive... We were eating in a pub, went up to order, and a man just started chatting with us because he had heard our accent. I love that kind of thing.
Back in France, we're entering tax return season, income declarations, and all that... and that's a lot less fun. Especially in my case, because I also have to file the annual declaration for my sole proprietorship at the same time. Because, of course, in France, they cleverly made both filing periods happen at once. I don't really have trouble doing it, but I'm always afraid of making a mistake, especially since I'm filing for the whole household, which means for my wife too. And we have situations that aren't exactly typical in France. On top of that, once you have a child, there are all kinds of extra things to report, lots of little amounts you can deduct from your taxes, and so on. For example, you can deduct 50% of daycare costs, 50% of school meals, but only above a certain amount, and that's just one example among many. It takes me a good day of administrative work just to calculate everything, organize the receipts, and make sure it's all in order.
And of course, tax returns also mean taxes to pay. I've already set money aside and made estimates, but let's just say it's still going to hurt. After all, this is France... It has its advantages, but when the taxes come due, well, you definitely feel it.
If that's something you'd find interesting (how taxes and redistribution work in France) feel free to mention it in the comments. I could do a little off-topic post about it.
And on the game side? Things are moving forward well. Now that my routine is back, I've been able to make solid progress, as you'll see from the numbers.
I now have all the lewd animations for this chapter blocked out. Some of them still need to be rendered, but the animation work itself is done, which is a major milestone. This chapter will have three lewd scenes. For comparison, Chapter 6 also had three, while the others only had two or even one.
Story-wise, I decided to add 200 lines of dialogue to the scene with Cassie, both to build her character a bit more and to try something a little different. You'll have to tell me what you think when the release comes out.
I've also planned to add a scene of around 300 lines. I haven't written it yet, but I really like the idea behind it. It will explore a bit more of our hero's past. I still need to think about exactly how to write it, but I already have the context in mind.
I still have around six long scenes left to pose, with several characters involved, as well as the final action scene. But as you can see, things are moving forward nicely.
Here are the numbers:
1,260 renders
4,400 lines of script completed
38 animations, with some still left to render
Thank you all for your support. You're amazing!

Merci, oui, surtout quand on aime le pays où on va et qu'on va chez des gens adorables! :)
Thanks for the update mate 👍 Glad you enjoyed your time in the UK. I also live in a town twinned with Cherbourg. A lot of people outside Europe might think it strange but I think it's a cool idea. Glad things are going better for you and good luck with the taxes, one of the only 2 certanties in life (death and taxes) Have a great week bud
