Progress Report : Anniversary

Hi everyone,

I'm going to make this progress report a little different from the one on Steam. I assume that if you're a Patron, or simply here to read the progress report, it's because you're interested in hearing some slightly more personal news.

Almost exactly four years ago, while I was bored in the Paris hotel room where I was staying for my new job, I decided to do a little writing. I remember it as if it were yesterday. I even went down to the hotel reception desk to ask them for a pen, because of course I had absolutely nothing to write with. I hadn't even received my work laptop yet, to give you an idea.

That was when I started creating the story of Glowing Stones.

We've come such a long way since then... Just look at where we are now. Since that day, I've released the game on Steam and GOG, which allowed me to leave that job. By the way, if any of my former coworkers happen to read this, know that I still think about you sometimes. It was a really cool company!

I've watched my son grow up quite a bit, and I've gotten quite a bit older myself. Don't try to tell me otherwise: my leg reminds me every single day.

I've learned how to use Ren'Py, Daz, Blender, Cascadeur, EmberGen, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.

I've met, talked with, and become friends with other developers and professionals, both within the adult games industry and outside of it.

We've gone from relatively small 10,000-word chapters to chapters containing between 25,000 and 30,000 words, with two or three times as many images, dozens of minutes of animation, and special effects that are finally starting to look genuinely impressive.

I know Chapter 7 is late. Believe me, I'm frustrated about it too, and probably more than you can imagine. But progress is still being made.

All I have left is the final action scene, a few small sections of the lewd scenes, and of course all the post-production work: sound design, some coding, translations, and everything else.

Health-wise, I'm having a few problems with my leg. I'm limping and it hurts when I walk, but at least I'm still able to work. The temperature finally cooled down a little today, but we've already had two major heat waves, with temperatures staying high even at night, and it has definitely taken a toll on me.

But that's just how it is.

I had some trouble finding a render to share today that wouldn't spoil anything. Chapter 7 is the second-to-last chapter, so naturally, some of the plotlines are beginning to be resolved...
