"King Creole" is the Elvis movie that is considered kind of an actual movie.
Paul Bartel also directed some pretty cool movies (wacky, campy dark comedies) himself. Some of them were considered "lost" for a while but now all of them are on Blu-ray. I own them. You guys should check them out. maybe even on the show.
Also, Gabrus; Paul Bartel was very famously openly gay.
If you guys like this movie, it would be awesome to get your take on Wild Zero, the Japanese Ramones Zombie Movie
The Ramones rule.
Razor Ramon(e) joke made me pop
Monsters of God is a handful of the most closeted men saying “No, I’m the most badass reptile guy!”
End of the Century is available here: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xa9w5es
Jeff Hayes, who narrates the “Dungeon Crawler Carl” novels on Audible—may be the finest audiobook narrator I have ever listened to. The range on that guy. He does some many characters so well.
I read McMurtry's Moving On last month and really loved it. It is 800 pages though
I'd highly recommend Tim Curry's audiobook, which came out late last year. I believe his review of Congo was "best watched on an airplane"
The paper airplane scene felt very Joe Dante
I really like Dungeon Crawler Carl, but like Gabrus mentioned in the past about things he has liked the fans kind of ruin it lol
Great stuff boys. I too enjoyed End of Oak Street immensely, just loved that it was 90 mins of fun sci-fi. Totally agree with every one of Ben's quibbles - but i dont see a sequel on the horizon. Maybe Ben has some insider hollywood knowledge!?!? Oh and also RIP Tim Curry
My kid was watching Deadpool 2 and he goes back in time and shoots Ryan Reynolds while he was reading a script for Green Lantern and she was like wtf was that?

Gabrus and Rodgers, if you have any time while you’re in Portland for Hood To Coast I’d highly recommend checking out Movie Madness, our local video store which, in addition to its huge physical media collection, has an amazing movie memorabilia collection, including Riff’s jacket from Rock ‘N’ Roll High School, Arnold’s coat from The Terminator and the Dragon of the Black Pool neon sign from Big Trouble In Little China, to name just a few of their more ABZ-centric pieces.
Dee Dee's rap album is pretty funny 😂 I think the single was "funky man" under the name "Dee Dee King" 😂
RIP Dolly. Gonna rewatch Rhinestone & 9 To 5 and think about all the good times at Dollywood back in the day.
Steel Magnolias rips shit.
David Robert Mitchell is way too smart to have intentionally written and directed that movie with sincerity. I feel like this review is pretty spot on https://vincemancini.substack.com/p/end-of-oak-street-review?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=6iiaag
I’m in Texas and it was 108 this past Sunday. And 104 on Monday and 102 on Tuesday. It’ll finally cool down to 98 on Thursday
Listening to them talk about the family doubles in Oak Street makes me think the director must be a Rick and Morty fan.
“King Creole” is the Elvis movie directed by Michael Curtiz (Casablanca, Adventures of Robin Hood). Playing against Walter Matthau and TV’s Morticia Addams. Noir-tinged, solid film.
I wonder if Sly’s going to say something about Dolly
No video?
it's up now
Hey! Ho! Warhorse!
This was the best thing I could have woken up to today!!! Can’t wait to listen 🕊️❤️
Got a promotion so I upgraded my subscription. I'm now a Shadow Wolf 😎
Head janitor?
“Reacher” season four is really good; the best season of the show, imo.
The action choreography is MUCH better than any previous season
