Growing up we found a 9 foot by 4 foot bee hive in the walls of our house. The entire thing would vibrate when you walked by it.
Could have sworn I heard Gabrus mention the podcast Superstructure... like... with Will Beaman, Max Seijo, Scott Ferguson? The Critical Theory/Film Studies/MMT Podcast? They still going?
No he started a new podcast with Julian Feeld from QAA podcast
Ben, say the word and you’ve my hundred, man.
The Furious is tight it's like the raid and taken
Man I’ve listened since 2019, every single episode in chronological order, and I’ve never had my impression of any of these dudes rocked as hard as it was upon learning Gabrus enjoyed the book Ready Player One.
it was kinda fun, fuckin better than the movie
Movie is legitimately terrifying, starts with Blunt finding 40 bodies in a house and only gets worse from there. I love the casual attire Brolin wears, you laugh the first time you see it because it looks so goofy, but it’s a great way to show that his character doesnt have to follow any rules, morally or otherwise.
I wonder if there’s a way to get The Boyz to cover Beau Travail even though it’s not really action. Id give anything if I could get their opinion on the ending. https://youtu.be/grGiq0yTaj4?is=3OW8pXXZTofmJJ5a
OfferUp algorithm started feeding me Lawnmower Man memorabilia and I don't know where else to share this. If you want a miniature figure of Dr. Angelo and other characters from the movie it's not too far from Los Angeles: https://offerup.com/item/detail/4d7d2ab1-d861-3861-ad28-9b790f5625f3
I saw this flick with my friend while he was homeless and he slept the whole way through
Denis Villaneuve isn’t European French. He’s French Canadian. Which is likely why he has a decent take on American Imperialism and the drug war. I only know this because I’m a Canadian movie buff.
This podcast is equal to 31 billion of thinking mode in less than a second.
I speak for every single shadow wolf when I say we would chip in to support Ben (or Gabrus/Stanger) if he was trying to get a film made
Gabrus and Rodgers being on a ufo and Cryptid text thread truly warmed my little weirdo heart!
The eye problem is called nystagmus. Some people are born with it (congenital) like classic character actor Pruitt Taylor Vince: https://youtu.be/pUHK1FK4fdc?si=pD0lIcxosdnXRXKl
Love Sicario, I remember the the hushed reaction in the cinema when Benicio del Toro's got his revenge. Well, one audience member actually called out "Jesus" which was a perfectly reasonable reaction. The film's an interesting mix of deeply grim yet very compelling. Speaking of grim, what do the Wolves think Del Toro was doing to that prisoner? I'd like to think that it was just waterboarding but the way the scene played out suggests that it was much something much worse.
#ABZReads I’ve been listening to the audiobook version of “Future Boy” by Michael J. Fox, and it’s been a great listen. The audiobook does something unique: many of the quoted passages are read by the actual people being quoted, and it even includes audio clips from Back to the Future. The book is narrated by Michael J. Fox himself, and it’s a bit heartbreaking to hear how age and Parkinson’s disease have changed his voice over the years. In fact, it can be a little challenging to listen to at times because his voice is no longer as sharp and clear as it once was.
