Was hanging out with my father-in-law yesterday and he was convinced AI will cure cancer. I tried to get him to think through why he thinks that, and it basically boils down to "magic". He's a retired IT CEO and apparently that makes you very susceptible to silicon valley marketing bullshit. I want to send him this clip and say "this is what you sound like". But I won't because I'm not crazy.
Holy shit that JCVD opener was a banger
How long have they all had mustaches?
Did anyone say this looks like La Rivista Della Televisione yet?
love all the audiobook talk I had no idea Will Patton did Lonesome Dove. I just burned through the audio version of Mark Z. Danielewski’s new western Tom’s Crossing and really enjoyed it. Epic.
all time opening clip
The computers nowadays use billions of pentaflop but the scary thing is in ten years even a common microchip in a dog will be in the 100 to 500 cantaloop flip fantasia of data processing power. CAN YOU DIG IT!!!!!
No Homo 💀💀
The Line Up has the coolest long destroyed San Francisco locations
Sweet kiss. Beautiful AI. I wanted to show her, my petaflop.
RIP Collider Live. A short but great run
JCVD is a treasure! I finally understand how AI works. Like Stanger rocking the Zappa facial hair.
ABZ not to get sincere in the comments but Gabrus mentioning Lonesome Dove: a while back you all mentioned McMurtry a bunch, Stanger especially Lonesome Dove. I read it and I loved it so much. Recommended it to two friends, they both read it, we've been texting about it pretty regularly for months. We're going to get together a few nights soon and watch the mini series. Easily one of the best books I have ever read. Genuinely enriched my life! Thanks boyz
Lonesome Dove is immaculate. For many father-son relationships, watching it together is the most intimate emotional experience possible and the only excusable display of tears. Plus the theme music is the best of any piece of entertainment in history
Ben saying he only supports plastic for action figures reminds me, I have one for each of you, is there a PO Box?
The cartoon netflix Mortal Kombat Legends: Cage Match on HBO is not bad, Joel McHale as Johnny Cage, has a sweary Gilbert Gottfried performance that was one of his last, and is a self-aware 80s action movie about an 80s action star with Jennifer Grey playing herself
I canceled all my streaming subscriptions but then my daughter wanted to watch the new Vampire Lestat so I got AMC+ (heavily discounted for a year) and oh my god it's the best streamer ever. Not only does it have all the AMC shows (Mad Men, TWD, Orphan Black) but the movie selection is insane. It includes Shudder, so it's got all the horror you could ever want including every Joe Bob Briggs and Tales from the Crypt. But it also has action movies out the ass - every Rambo, every Rocky, tons of Arnold (Commando, Total Recall), Top Gun, and tons of comedy (Airplane, Uncle Buck, Weekend at Bernie's). I don't have a referral link or anything, I just wanted to share this hidden gem of a service. I'm fucking spoiled with options right now. And yes, all the Chris Hardwick Talking Dead as well, you fucking D23 sickos.
The show from the 80's with Kevin Peter Hall is "Misfits of Science", also starred a very young Courtney Cox.
The Travis McGee thing where he recovers lost property but keeps 50% is kind of similar to the evil Cajun lawyer in Elmore Leonard's Unknown Man 89, I don't know if that's the thing Stanger is thinking of
The Boys final season was the worst writing ever. I'm getting to this point where I like horrible shit because it leads to so much discussion
Jesus Christ I'm dying from JCVD. the ramblings of a sidekicking splitsing lunatic. Maybe he's actually a genius and we're just too dumb to understand. Maybe.
Saw De Palma in the theater, during the jump scare from Raising Cain the woman a couple rows ahead of me jumped, De Palma rocks!
Holy shit this opener
“One pentaflop— it’s equal to 31 billion of thinking mode in less than a second.”
Don’t got time for the new Netflix, Im still playing the new Nintendo
“eH-eH i”
Hope the boys are adjusting to having to wear pants to these, thank you for your sacrifice
I like how this studio looks like the flashback with the kids at the end of Sleepaway camp
only needs the boys on a white four-poster bed with the Blowout 360 pan around them
Shout out to Stanger for giving Carlito’s Way some love. Awesome movie.
God damn that opening clip is incredible
