I will not honor those "do not re-upload" requests seen in Gallery descriptions for the random sims I target for destruction, though my inbox and DMs are always open and DIY instructions are now available for everypony, and I will gladly provide you with modded Sim Presets of your sims so your name is on them if you so desire - providing I'm not busy with something else.
We need to have more consideration for each other and tag our !@#$ properly, or avoid making "CAS Unlock" sims altogether - intentionally or unintentionally. It's not like the hidden/locked CAS items are even that exciting - except that one outfit that came with EP17, but I don't think that gets unlocked without a CAS Override.

Not all "CAS Unlock" sims are buggy and broken, but all "CAS Unlock" sims can infect your Saved Game and your personal Library / Tray sims if you're not careful.
1️⃣ If you own EP16 A.K.A. TS4: Lovestruck Expansion Pack, navigate to PACK SETTINGS in your GAME OPTIONS and DISABLE the following setting:
Enable Gallery Sims in Cupid's Corner
2️⃣ Check TOPS, BOTTOMS, and FULL BODY categories in CAS for the "Unlocked" filter under "Content" for every third-party sim or household you add to your game. If it's there, it's "CAS Unlock".
3️⃣ The "CAS Unlock" infection is a bit of code that clings to CAS. Never ADD A SIM, MERGE or REPLACE any of your sims or households onto a "CAS Unlock" sim - it will immediately infect your household.
4️⃣ If you've had a "CAS Unlock" sim loaded in CAS, always CANCEL and RESET CURRENT HOUSEHOLD or exit and re-enter CAS before creating a new sim or modifying a Library / Tray sim to avoid infection.

There are a couple ways you can get your infected sims to me:
If you're comfortable using the Gallery and the sim/household is already on the Gallery, tell me your creator name or the name of the household as it appears in the Gallery. If the sim/household isn't on the Gallery, you can upload it and do the aforementioned, or add my tags so I can find it easily - #sejianismodding #disinfectme
You can ARCHIVE the corresponding Library / Tray files for the sim/household as a ZIP file or RAR file and share them with me publicly or privately.
There are a few ways I can give you your "disinfected" sim:
As a Gallery upload - these households will have MY creator name on them as seen on my upload of EAxis' "The Grimterns".
As Library / Tray files - these households will also have MY creator name on them.
As a "Sim Preset" override - drop these in your Mods folder, then enter CAS and save your sim from the Preset. This option will give you YOUR creator name on your sim/household.

I WANT TO BELIEVE™ that most simmers, including creators and even EAxis, might not be aware of the issues with "CAS Unlock" sims, or that they're even sharing "CAS Unlock" sims, but that's not going to stop me from tackling this.
This isn't going to be a regular thing.
If I encounter a third-party sim that I like and it's "CAS Unlock", I will disinfect it and re-share it and notify the creator directly or indirectly.
I need to remind myself how to disinfect a "CAS Unlock" sim using modded Sim Presets, so I'm going on the offensive, and I'm starting with a recent EAxis household - why punch down when I can attack a titan what lacks the decency to tag their "CAS Unlock" sims properly - if they're even aware.

I intend to disinfect the THREE (3) Vampires households EAxis shared back in 2017, but those will take some time because I have to "rebuild" the Occult "forms".
Not all of EAxis' Gallery households are "CAS Unlock" - thank the goddess - it looks to be only a few.
There are also a few households from random simmers I want to disinfect cause I like them but I'll never use them if they're "CAS Unlock" sims.

I reached out to satterlly once before about this sim, they were unaware of the "CAS Unlock" status. I will do two variants of him: a "no CC" variant I will customize myself and upload to the Gallery - because he lacks outfits and needs a "no CC" makeover to not look like arse, and a modded Sim Preset variant that I will attempt to give to satterlly so they can republish this sim with their name on him. Like I've said numerous times, I'm not trying to pass off anyone's work as my own, and I generally don't give a rat's arse about the Gallery.

Heya Sejian! Sorry for commenting in an old post, I hope you will see this message :) About this CAS Unlock bug, I noticed that after disinfecting my sims, there are some clothes/accessories that they wore, that I can no longer access. I can still see them wearing it, but the moment I take it off, I can no longer find those particular items (mind you that before I disinfect all my sims, I had all the packs required) So why are they gone? And how do I access them back? Thank you!!
Hi! Is it possible that those specific items were either crafted in-game or unlocked through gameplay, like career levels or something? If you can screenshot the specific items, post a new comment in the Troubleshooting Community Chat and attach the screenshots. ─ Also, commenting on old posts is fine. I don't delete posts unless Patreon bugs out and this is still an ongoing issue. Every post is "active", regardless how old it is or when the last time I updated it was.
I wanted to ask you something. Sorry for my english btw. Its not my first language. I've had this bug for a while now. Literally since I can remember. I recently had to reset my Sims to zero (losing all my saves) but all the Sims I have on my public gallery are infected. So..here is the question. can I just delete them from the gallery completely and have peace of mind? Or are there any cc's that transfer this? I don't have any mods. Just CC. Clothes, eyes, skins etc. At least now i know why all of my games were laggy..
Sorry for the delay. I was sleeping again. Your English is fine! As far as I know, there is no CC that can spread the "CAS Unlock" sim code. Also, regular "CAS Unlock" CAS overrides are fine, because they either OVERRIDE or CLONE CAS items. removing or adding PartFlags so the item will show in CAS. It's only these "CAS Unlock" sims that act the way they do. If you care about any of the sims you have on the Gallery, I'd be happy to "disinfect" them for you. I could even provide you with modded Presets if you want your "Creator name" on your sims - If I save them they'll have my name in the "By" field, as seen in my "The Grimterns" screenshots.
Why and how are cas unlock sims buggy? Thousands of players play the fantasy save file and none have reported any issues with these sims. Can you explain the specific "bug".
Hi! Sorry for the delay. I was napping. The "buggy" ones duplicate regular CAS items. The "not buggy" ones don't. My issue with "CAS Unlock" sims is less that they exist and more that buggy ones exist and hardly anyone tags their "CAS Unlock" sims appropriately. You can't tell at a glance if a one is buggy or not buggy, and from a Gallery perspective you can't tell at all that it's "CAS Unlock" until you've downloaded it, and from an EP16 "Dating App" perspective, you won't know at all until it's already in your game. And of course, there's also the fact that most simmers don't understand "CAS Unlock" sims, nor do some realize that they're even sharing them - the process of "unlocking" the items on your sim with a third-party "CAS Unlock" sim is actually infecting your sim with the CAS Unlock "code". Per my response to a similar question Elsweyr , "I have no idea what long term effects - if any - the buggy / outdated "CAS Unlock" sims might have on saved games." Apart from knowingly or unknowingly "infecting" other sims (including pets) with the "CAS Unlock" code, it's quite possible it has no effect on gameplay aside from bloating the save. Each sim with "CAS Unlock" code is, IIRC, at least 30~40 KB larger than they would be without the "code". I don't know how to create a "CAS Unlock" sim - I didn't look into it at the time when I first encountered them back in Jan 2024, and I've only just given this some more attention - so I cannot say why some "CAS Unlock" sims are buggy while others are not. It could be as simple as EAxis' changes to the game over time can bug them out, but I don't know for certain. With that said, I don't know yet if any of yours are buggy because I haven't gone through them yet, nor did I intend to go through all of them - unless you'd like me to - I only intend to "disinfect" a few of them. My first encounter with a "CAS Unlock" sim was with a buggy one. I accidentally infected a dozen of my households in CAS including the Tray save of my "Significant Sim" before realizing something was amiss, so my first experience was negative, and it remains negative because over time I came to realize that "CAS Unlock" sims are "everywhere" and I've never seen anyone mention some of them are outdated, or how to remove it, or that it actually "sticks to/infects" your sim - and CAS if you don't exit and re-enter or "Reset Current Household". I should add the majority of this response to the main post explaining my issues with "CAS Unlock" sims when I overhaul it again. F.Y.I. I refer this as "an infection" for two reasons: 1. It spreads from sim to sim to pet, etc. 2. it's not simple to get rid of. It's not like removing mods. You've gotta jump through hoops in Live Mode or mod Sim Presets to get rid of it.
Oh and I forgot to ask something. I remember my sims wearing many CAS items with orange border and duplicated items. If the sims succesfully fixed, will the duplicated CAS items be removed or still attach to the sims? Thank youu!
I'm actually not sure. The items should remain but I can't say for certain. I'll try it with one of the EAxis sims I intend to disinfect. Most likely I'll be working on this today.
Oh gosh sorry...once I calm down a bit, I re-read 2 of your entries. So is my understanding correct? If I already have the infected sims saved to my Library, the only way to disinfect them is through the Sim Preset method? The disinfecting through the Live Mode method will not work?
They can be disinfected both ways. I prefer Sim Presets, but that's a me thing because I want my Library-saved sims to be in mint condition. You can pull them all into a new saved game and disinfect them in Live Mode if you're fine with whatever bits of Live data remain on sims saved to the Library from Live Mode. This Live data includes stuff like Skill level, Traits, Career level, etc. I don't have a full list.

If you mean the saved game, it doesn't corrupt it per say - well, that depends on what is left behind when a sim is deleted from a saved game and if it has any effect on the saved game long term. I can't answer that. It doesn't corrupt, it infects. If you do the Live Mode disinfection, the sim that remains in the household remains infected after you've disinfected everyone else by moving them out. Evicting that last infected sim and deleting them from the save might remove the "CAS Unlock" code. I'll have to do some troubleshooting to verify this. "CAS Unlock" sims got shoved to the side when the Feb 2024 Malware Incident happened and I'm only now continuing my work on it. As for sims infected in CAS, the only way to disinfect them without dragging them into Live Mode is with Sim Presets. There's no other way to get rid the CAS Unlock "code" once you save the sim to the Library / Tray.

Are you certain they're infected? Do they all have the "Unlocked" filter seen in the screenshots on the "sister post"? Sim Presets aren't difficult to mod, but I'm saying that as someone who knows how to do it. It can be daunting if it's your first time doing it. Let me remind myself how it's done and we'll proceed from there. How many households do you have that are infected? Me disinfecting them for you is not a problem. I don't mind.
Hi Sejian, it’s me. Do you still remember me? OMG!!! I AM CRYING SO HARD RIGHT NOW!! After reading this post, I realized ALL my hard created sims are all infected with this bug!! I love them so much!! PLEASE HEEELLP MEEE!! I would be grateful forever to you if you can please let us know how to disinfect them using the Sim Preset method. PLEASE PLEASE HEEEEDDLLLPPP!!! 😭😭😭😭😭 GOD! I can’t stand this game’s bugs anymore!! I am giving up on the Sims if they continue having huuuuge bugs all over their game! Bugs infecting my sims are my last straw!!
Yikes! I know the feeling. The first time I encountered this, I unknowingly infected about a dozen random sims I pulled from Live Mode and I infected Scarlet. In Scarlet's case, I had multiple backups, so I was able to recover them, but the random dozed got tossed in a backup folder. Don't worry, I'll explain how to Sim Preset this soon. I'm just wrapping up a couple other things. It's not terribly difficult, it's just time consuming depending on how many sims you want to disinfect with Sim Presets. 🫂 Also, keep in mind that not everyone views "CAS Unlock" sims as a negative, though that's also because most folks don't realize some of these "CAS Unlock" sims are broken and it's hard to tell which is and isn't - which is why I view them all negatively. As mentioned in the "sister post" linked at the top, there's also a way to disinfect your sims in Live Mode, but it comes with caveats like sims that are saved to the Library from Live Mode retain some Live Mode data, and you need to create a new save for the disinfection process and you need to delete it that save when you're done disinfecting your sims.
