π Paralives Early Access is live with a "Very Positive" rating, but it's not necessarily indicative of the state of the game for everyone. Inform yourself and proceed with caution. -- Now that I have it, I'ma see what's up for myself. Also, it loads in 15 seconds for me. I have an SN850X. It is a troubleshooting tool for TS4 launch issues. If TS4 takes longer than 30 seconds to load to Main Menu and I'm Online, it means EAxis servers are !@#$ed.

πΉ The last time I watched a 40-something minute "gameplay" video, it was scripted trash that was not at all indicative of the actual game (at the time). If Paralives pulls an inZoi, or a Cyperpunk 2077, I will blow a capacitor - I will blow multiple capacitors!
β// β PARALIVING:
I have absolutely no idea what's going on with Paralives because I have not being keeping up with its development.
I didn't even know it was releasing in approximately 2 days until few hours ago! πΉ
Depending on how the early reviews are, I might pick it up either same day or day after.
I will be very, very disappointed if I cannot create my "Para" the way they're meant to be, and I will immediately refund the game, and give it a 0/10 "Totes Dog Poo!" review!!!!! πΉπ
β// β MODDING:
Most of my mods for The Sims 4 are bugfixes.
The hope is that Paralives never requires the mountain of third-party bugfixes that The Sims 4 does, or even if it does, that the devs will incorporate third-party bugfixes into the game in a timely fashion, and not 2-3-6 years later and only after we've turned it into a games media scandal - yeah, I ain't ever gon' forget that !@#$.
Anything else depends on the game and what we can do with the tools, on release and as the game progresses.

β// β TBC...?:
I really hope they don't !@#$ this up. EA and EAxis need competent competition, and we need a proper alternative to The Sims franchise.
Also...
Minimum:
Graphics: GTX 1060 or RX 6600 XT
Recommended:
Graphics: RTX 2060 or RX 7600 XT
This thing had better work on my 1050 Ti. π¦πΉ
Also, also, we have new text formatting options for Headings! ππΊ
Look how big they are! πΉ
β// β THE SIMS 4:
I forgot to say, this does not at all mean that I'm suddenly going to drop The Sims 4 like a steaming pile of kaijΕ« !@#$.
I'm committed to finishing my mods and then maintaining them for as long as I am able to.
The only way I stop modding The Sims 4 is if literally everyone stops playing the game.

I have an i7 3200, 16 GB of RAM, a GTX 980 4 GB, and the game runs perfectly smoothly. I play The Sims 4 on this same PC with families of six and on my own houses, and the game runs smoothly with FPS between 60 and 90 depending on the number of Sims in use. The build mode is fantastic; everything is customizable in size and adjustable at will, which is a major plus. Having been used to the high quality of the Sims 4 characters, I find those in Paralives less impressive. Admittedly, the game is only about 8 GB, compared to 22 GB for the base game of The Sims 4, which is a significant difference. However, Paralives offers many more features right from the start, which is an undeniable advantage. Let's hope the developers continue in this direction; the game could become a real competitor to The Sims 4.
I also didn't know about the game until about a week before it released. Found out about it when one of my favorite Simmer YouTuber got early access to try it a week early. She LOVES the Sims, but she's also having so much fun with Paralives so far, especially the build/buy mode. The game does look pretty exciting too, ngl. She's also actually mentioning the occasional issues she finds, mentioning here and there that she wants the devs to have actual good feedback and all so they can hopefully fix things, so she's not just only praising it. She even did a video comparing the build/buy modes of the Sims 4 and Paralives, and didn't just trash one over the other or anything. Actually giving constructive criticism, mentioning what she likes about both games, and mentioning what she hopes the Paralives devs might add in the future, both things the Sims 4 has and things she, and a lot of the community, have been asking for for years, as well as what bugs she thinks she might be running into. She also recently started branching out to some other games too. I've also seen a youtube short recently that had a woman looking at the textured hair in Paralives and being SO impressed at the variety and how good they looked, all right off the bat too! And someone commented on it about realizing they just had to spend time on figuring which one they wanted to choose rather than trying to find any, like they would in the sims. So far, its looking like it'll be a good competitor at least.
I'm having a nice time with the game on my computer so far. I'm liking the career and collections systems a lot so far, and build mode. Performance has been good for me (M5 Pro Mac/24 GB RAM), and most of the bugs I've seen have been animation problems, which I hope would be easier to fix than some other types of issue. Hopefully, the team stays responsive to issues!
"Hopefully, the team stays responsive to issues!" Same. I really hope that since gameplay mods seem to already be possible, that they don't ever start doing the crap EAxis does and leave bugs unfixed for years because a mod exists. I don't want another bug-riddled mess that has to be modded to oblivion in order to work properly. I'm glad to hear it's working well for you! I read a headline lauding the character creator, so I'm eager to see it for myself.
A bunch of youtubers got keys to play the game now before the EA release, so there are some reviews and streams out already. It looks like it's still pretty rough around the edges, but definitely has potential. The devs also seem really responsive to the community, so I'm hopeful and planning to pick it up day one.
Paralives is an ant compared to a lion
Hopefully that ant can get some Ninja Turtle ooze and mutate into a behemoth. π Also, I take back what I said about The Sims not needing a new engine. Paralives' Build/Buy Mode puts The Sims 4 to shame with its little pointy ant feet. πΉ
